So recently I realised that I am possibly a Half-Life fanboy.
After that I played through all the Half-Life games (except the HL source)and made a line up for myself. And I don't take the multiplayers under account, because I don't play multiplayer shooters.

1 Half-Life 2-it's the best game ever to me
2 Half-Life 2 e 2-it's only short coming to me was the arund 5 hurs lenght
3 Half-Life-it's physics although revolutionary at the time are kinda shit otherwise superb
4 Half-Life Blue Shift-it's story was great and it didn't artificialy lenghten the gamepay like HL did in some places
5 Half-Life 2 e 1-nice but too much gravity gun
6 Half-Life Opposing Force-easely the weakest because it's basically the cut down version of the HL with more guns
7 Half-Life 2 Lost Coast- excellent but short( and I know it's a tech demo, still short )

So give me your line up

So, eh, ok?

If this is supposed to be some kind of cloaked discussion on HL rankings, then you put Blue shift above Opposing force and so are obviously insane.

1 Half-Life
2 Half-Life 2
3 Half-Life 2 ep 2
4 Half-Life Opposing force
5 Half-Life 2 Lost coast
6 Half-Life 2 ep 1
7 Half-Life 2 Blue shift

Okay... so what is the discussion here?

Yes, I like HL, I have played through HL2 and its episodes numerous times, and haven't finished HL:S, but never played the others (except Lost Coast).

Do you want a gold star? Because I don't know what you want us to do. If so, buy one on ebay.

I liked Opposing Force much more than Blue Shift. Don't quite know what you mean by "cut down." I found it a nice change of pace, carrying the game past Freeman's dimensional hop and the ultimate fate of Black Mesa.

^ This. Blue shift (while not 'bad') was poor in comparison, Opposing force built on the plot from a fresh perspective with sweet new guns and some squad based action.

BLASPHEMY!

There is no such thing as "too much gravity gun".

The gravity gun is one of the best parts of the game, and in that episode, It's even more powerful(at least in the first part), because it could kill people.

Do you want us to take all the Half Life games and list them in order of how much we like them?

If so, what the fuck is wrong with you?

Lost Coast sucks
It's more of a test than a game, I think Valve only made it to test out types of game play for the episodes, like moving up the cliff.

This topic is pointless.

Anyhoo, I consider HL2, e1 and e2 as one game now since I play through them in one continuous run. I also liked Lost Coast cause its very pretty and I like the director commentaries Valve add to their games.

As for my list, the original and its expansions go at the bottom cause I haven't got round to playing them yet.

Blue Shift is that high, but Opposing Force is the weakest? Seriously?

Opposing Force added an entire race of Aliens, and a whole new roster of enemies. Not only did it add a a bunch of guns, it added incredibly unique guns, and many pretty massive innovations (Barnacle, anyone?). It tweaked, altered, and added on ever last front of the game, while providing a genuinely different niche in the Half Life universe. It probably would have been more interesting then Gordon Freeman if it wasn't...you know...Gordon Freeman. Meanwhile, Blue Shift was...okay, don't get me wrong. Blue Shift was great. It was Half Life. But that's the criticism. Blue Shift could have seamlessly fit into the the first part of Half Life, and no one would notice. It was good, but it was just more of the same, indistinguishable from what Half Life did. It was well done, but it didn't add anything.

Ill defend you on the too much Gravity Gun front. Valve made an awesome Physics engine, but I'm afraid they might be just a tad too proud of themselves. I actually didn't mind the gravity gun stuff, it was just that I can't help but feel that the gravity gun stuff is occasionally put in in order to elicit praise, rather then improve the game. But its a pretty minor nit pick.

Not sure I can give a lineup, but I can say that HL and HL2 are tied, there just products of there time, Half Life episodes just keep getting better and better, and Opposing Force is much, much better then Blue Shift. I don't count Lost Coast because yes, it is a tech demo.

What do you mean about the Barnacles? Because I can remember disliking those things from HL1 before i had even played OPforce.
