Great trailer! I'm cautiously optimistic as the film will sink or swim based on whether or not the script is good. The visuals look superb though.

All the CG in the world can't prevent Harrison Ford from looking like a mummy.
At least they didn't bother to hide it.
Oh yea. Do you remember when they tried to use CG to hide Patrick Stewart?s wrinkles at the end of Xmen Wolverine Origins? Oh man, I was ready to barf.

I can?t say that I?m willing to get off my ass to go see this movie on release day, but I am definitely going to get off my ass to see it eventually. Heck, even if it turns out to be a trash movie like Indiana Jones 4, I?m still going to see it. Maybe that?s the problem with movie goers and why sequels are so prevalent, but I really want to see how this turns out, even if it sucks.

I'm digging the narrated monologue... and the helmet skull... and Han Solo's line delivery...

Yep... My hype meter is at "pending" instead of "still pending"...
This. Plus, I don't think I'm doing anything in December, anyway...

That crashed Star Destroyer was really bugging me and I finally figured out why.

How come its not covered in sand that's been blown over it? Even the X-Wing in the front of the shot seems suspiciously un-weathered. This is Tatooine right? Why isn't every Jawa on the planet around it? lol

It looks a lot better in the later shot with the Millenium Falcon flying into the engine (assuming its the same one) and that scene overall was great.

Whole trailer was miles better than the mess of the first one.

All it takes is an old Harrison Ford saying a one-liner at the end of a trailer to get you hyped? I don't know why this is anything new anyway, we knew the old cast would appear in the new movie.

Ehh... it was ok.

The main thing that concerns me so far is that same thing I noted in the first teaser. No sign of any space combat. Not a single shot that Ive seen.
There will be, not one Starwars film has gone without it (even ep 5 showed a star destroyer being hit with an ion laser, can't remember if there was out else)

If there sin't (or little of it) then i'm assuming the ground combat will be just as good...

But them X-wings have to come from somewhere, could of came down from a space fight to do a strafing run or something.
Episode 5 had the fight in the Astroid field between the hyperdriveless Falcon and the entire goddamn Imperial Fleet.

The big selling point to me from this trailer is the reprise of the Force musical theme.I was really terrified that this Star Wars movie wouldn't have a Star Wars soundtrack.

Of course, my biggest fear is that the movie won't have the classic intro-text-crawl-to-pan-down-to-starship-in-space (With full orchestral performance) or credits extro.

How the fuck did I forget that?

Okay the. So they have all had them xD don't see why this one despite its new ownership will be any different

Is it just me, or is it weird that Chewbacca's back to his slick-back 70s hairstyle and not the glorious mane of ROTJ?

In any case, the costume/set design and gorgeous cinematography is giving me nothing but good vibes. I don't think I have it in me to be hyped for a new Star Wars film after what happened a decade and a half ago, but cautiously optimistic? I think I can do that.

I figured that the Star Destroyer was recently crashed, which is how Finn gets stranded on the Jacoo.

What would be so awesome though... Is if they pulled a KotOR2 with the storyline and begun to see things in terms of the Force as more than just black and white. As more than just good jedi and evil sith.

There are five things every Star Wars movie needs:
1. That Dramatic Opening Crawl (With the iconic orchestral theme), finished by the pan down to Starships in Space from that crawl.
2. At least two planets
3. A lightsaber Duel
4. At least one starship battle in space - more are better.
5. The closing credits sequence and theme.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Definitely a Star Wars film, even with the lack of any idea of what the story is going to be like. The production team has any info locked down.

That trailer was kinda cool, I have a little more hope for it to be good. I'm interested to learn more about Finn though, so far all I know is that he sweats a lot and looks terrified a bunch.

Really petty alert. This article would've ruined my first view of the trailer. Seeing Han and Chewie at the end was a great surprise, which the article would've just destroyed.

I like what I see, the new Sith looks a bit lifted-from-the-Old-Republic to me, but we've only seen a few seconds of screen-time still early days, colour me enthused

6. Someone says the line "I've got a bad feeling about this."
7. The Wilhelm scream ;)

But yeah, it had better have all the things you listed... because despite my better judgement I am now officially pumped for this movie.

I felt like all the first trailer did was try and generate buzz with iconic imagery rather than showing something substantive, and I thought it was disappointing. This trailer filled me with absolutely nothing. I'm not sure which is worse.

Not sure why everyone was assuming the worst, but whatever, I guess low expectations generally make a movie more enjoyable.

Anyway, seeing Han and Chewy back is almost surreal, I never expected to see them in another Star Wars movie ever again. At least not while being played by the original cast.
