Did Trump finally get that big military parade he wanted, with battle tanks and fighter jets, and Air Force One doing a flyover of the Mall?
Genuine question btw. Cuz I can't be arsed to look it up myself.
I am not sure if it was smaller than expected due to rain or just poor planning but from everything I have seen, it actually looked smaller than our local veteran's day parade and air show here at the armory and park. The tanks were stationery, not on parade, their floats were nothing big, my local high school floats were actually more professional looking that what I saw there and the school's bands and drill teams that were present did not look like they would even make state.. It was pretty sloppy compared to even our state fair and homecoming parades tbh. The military bands and rifle teams looked good but that is to be expected. From everything I have seen thus far, It didn't really look like much of a military parade even though he likely spent a fortune on it. This is what most people remember:
Trump behind his rain soaked bullet proof glass.
EDIT: After further investigation it turns out it wasn't the rain, it was his engineers, military and poor planning:
Donald Trump had wanted these war machines to rumble through the rarefied streets of the nation?s capital until he was thwarted by engineers.
Send a fleet of these 60-ton monsters over the bridge from Arlington National Cemetery, they said, and it could crumble into the Potomac River.
Plan B: they were plopped into static positions outside the Lincoln Memorial after being delivered by train at an estimated cost of around $750,000.
He?d been inspired by France?s nationalism-soaked Bastille Day celebrations - a day during which a nation usually queasy about military might throws its arms around the troops - during a trip in 2017.
And this could all have been a blockbuster Hollywood remake of a European classic - if he?d gotten his own way. Instead, after reported resistance to a full-scale military showcase from senior aides, this felt at times like a straight-to-DVD version of a Red Square parade.
There were no legions of troops, no tanks rolling down the Mall, and some of the war machines that did end up on display - like the M4 Sherman - last appeared on the battlefield for the US in the 1950s.

If he had properly planned this well in advance as most event organizers do, he would have had the best bands and dance teams in the nation, extravagant floats made from every state, amazing gymnasts and more and not even have to pay for much of it as communities voluntarily make these things for local parades as well, but that would actually mean Trump be capable of thinking ahead and wanting to produce a quality event instead of his usual fake cardboard and foam inauguration cake because he half asses everything he does in life.
