Harder to get aroused. Might have Porn Addiction

Well after years of continued internet pornography usage, I have come to the conclusion that I am suffering from an addiction to it. Lately it seems that my tastes in porn has become more and more hardcore to the point that I don't even know who I am anymore. Quite frankly, I need to do a hard reset of my brain. Things that used to get me aroused don't seem to do it for me anymore or take a longer time to arouse me. What I am saying is that I need help with this problem.

If you allow me to create a word, you're over-sexualized. Your brain became numb to the usual stuff so it seeks new stuffs to achieve its goal.
I have been there and I can tell you that what worked for me was taking a break. A good whole week break. I know how hard it can be (unintentional pun, sorry) so if that's too much, go slow as our fellow poster stated above: once every two or three days.
It's a tough self control challenge. Also, most of the time when I was looking for porn, I was just bored so if you can replace those moments with anything else like watching TV (or YouTube as that was my case), go for a walk, even taking a nap just to make your mind wonder to something else.

So there ya go. Self control, man. Good luck!

Nah, you can still masturbate all you like, the trick is to do it without porn so you can learn to maintain your arousal without it. You should get your normal sex drive back after a couple weeks. You just gotta take it easy for a bit, it worked for me when I realized I had gone a little overboard with it back in high school.

i think the problem is you need to find more hardcore porn since what you are watching obviously isn't hardcore enough......

in all seriousness

just do the deed without porn for a while, if you don't get sufficiently stimulated then put it back in your pants and try again later

Or do it the old fashioned way. Find a picture, and just let your mind do the details. What you will come up with is way more interesting than any video will do.

may be you are depressed?
Also sex in porn is different from real life sex.

Whenever this happens to me, I try to take at least a week break from masturbating to porn. I know how surprisingly easy it can be to just drift onto some porn website or video when you?re bored browsing on the internet, but if you do get bored or it gets too tough for you, watch some TV, read a book, or organise a day out in town or something to take your mind off it.

No shit, and that's got nothing to do with the OP's topic.

Might be hard, but no one said it was going to be easy.
Chortle chortle :)

I second the suggestions of taking a break from porno. There's something quite cleansing about deleting your porn folder and going cold turkey for a couple of weeks.

Well...I wouldn't advise deleting your porn folder. What if you still want to watch it at a later date? I mean, I personally delete some porn folders that I have no use or need for anymore, but there have been times where I've deleted folders of really nice images and stuff and later regretted it because I don't know where to find them again.

But the "cold turkey" thing for a couple of weeks, yeah. I mean, it goes for anything: if you do it too much, you can get bored of it, but it becomes hard to break the habit because it's become part of your routine and you might get addicted (and you can get addicted to anything, provided you do it long enough for it to become a routine).

As always, everything in moderation.

Personally, I found I was compulsively saving stuff that I rarely went back to look at again. Losing stuff - either through hard drive crashes or voluntarily deleting it - made porn new and interesting again after a break. The "thrill of the hunt" came back. A geeky OCD approach to erotica, but hey!

Yeah, that's true, but sometimes I save stuff so I won't have to hunt for it again. Because sometimes I get so caught up in it in the "hunt" that I don't pay as much attention to the picture or video as I'd like to because I'm always thinking one or two steps ahead, or I don't have the time or interest to look at it again.

I guess it's a form of addictive hoarding. Like I said, I delete some stuff, but not all of it, in case I want to look at it again. It's the same with a lot of other stuff I have: video games, clothes, etc.
