I've been playing Demon's Souls (half way through it) and it's not as hard as everyone makes it out to be, then again I chose knight as my starter class, is that why it's easy? If so, what is the hardest starting class?

I haven't tried them all, but knight is the "hardest" character I've made, especially if you intend to kill Vangard.
Generally I do a royal or a temple knight.
Royals are easy because their magic 1-hits most things and they have an MP regen ring.
Temple knights are easy because the pole arm lets them keep foes at a distance. Of course my favorite weapon is the pole arm, so perhaps I'm a bit biased since I'm so used to using one.

Hmmm hunters get really pain-in-the-assy later on.
Id have to go with barbarian as the hardest though, because they have next to no armor and use melee weapons.

I say Thief is the hardest eventhough they have IMO the best armor set. Yet you have to be a parry, backstab master to do any real damage.

I think the Barbarian is hard but that's just because I didn't care for his starting weapons too much. Royal seems like the easiest in comparison.

I actually used the Barbarian for my first play through, and they really aren't that hard. The challenge is just keeping the enemies in front of you and not getting swarmed from behind, other than that, what the barbarian lacks in armor he makes up for in attack damage, and can 1-2 hit most things. Can't get hit if you don't give the enemy time to hit you. The only downside is going up against ranged opponents.

Really? I had an easy time with parrying and back stabbing (although, that may be because I always play rogues); rogue was the only class I didn't die in the 6-8 hours of that class I played. I played 3-4 others and died at least once with each one of them (except rogue of course). I then put the controller down because I was done. For whatever reason, I had the hardest time with being a knight.

The game is easy because you figured out how to play it properly, and you have a good build for the weapon you're using.

So my question would be: what weapon and shield are you using?
