Has there ever been a game directly based off of a book?

thats another hard question. I dunno. never read any books that would be very plausable as a game.

Well, we all know there's been games based on movies based on books, but that doesn't really count.
Well, if you're being strict, things like Betrayal at Krondor and discwolrd don't count since they are based of settings rather than a specific book.

Betrayal at Krondor was one of the earliest Novel to PC translations, and the game for those who remember it, was actually quite close to the novel.
Also any game from the Icewind Dale PC saga, would also count.
