Erm, I'm not sure how to take this, square enix/eidos has pulled the Assasin Creed 2 two on us and snipped a bit out of the middle main game to sell as dlc. But we have arleady had an article on this very site quoting the developers as saying they had to cut areas out of the game because they didn't have time to include it, however they can release dlc within a month of the games release. A bit of a conflicting message.

The dlc does look good and more Deus Ex is more Deus Ex, though I think I will wait til a steam sale to pick the dlc at a reduced price, if at all.

Talk about fitting revenge.

I'm gonna miss being able to throw fridges.

Let's see....release game at the determined date, or delay the game after finding out that in order to get all the stuff you wanted in which gamers won't even be able to tell the difference because they won't be getting the game sans that content, you have to push your release date by a month and risk pissing everybody off, including the people who funded your first game since they acquired you?

Tough choice.

Honestly? If you don't like it, don't buy it, and pretend that the content was never added at all, and that you're missing nothing since it doesn't exist.

On the subject of the main game, I recently briefly rented it because I heard on the internet that the game gives you choice on how to get around many parts of it, but then I played and always wound up shooting guys. Can anyone give me tips on how I might make this not the case, or is that just the game?

OT: DLC looks like it could be good, though it is weird that they're bringing out story based DLC for the game so fresh from release.

I haven't played the new Deus Ex game yet, but let me try and get this straight. The DLC is me playing without the cool augmentations that basically make Deus Ex?
To be fair, you basically have no augs for the first real level (you can get 1, MAYBE 2 skill points out of it), and that was still really good.

I think the real question is this.

Is Jenson now going to be cool enough to beat the bad guys now that he's lost the +20% coolness bonus of his instant sunglasses?
I see the VG cats reference, and I like it. Anyway, without augmentations there won't be any take-downs. That's gonna make things difficult.
Um... you mean the My Little Pony reference. And does VG Cats even exist anymore? I honestly stopped checking a couple years back when he'd maybe post one comic every few months.

Belltower interrogator: We have shut off all your useful augments instead of just killing you... No you are ours!

*stupid maniacal laugh*

*Adam punches a guard in the face and takes gun, points it at Belltower interrogator while interrogator opens eyes after lol'ing*

Belltower interrogator: Oh... fuck...

The augmentations are part of what made the game great and interesting. Why would Square just take them out of the picture? From a gameplay perspective this is baffling and from a story perspective it's just stupid.
