I hate advertisements with a passion, but I acknowledge they are a necessary evil, especially in the day and age of "Free" stuff. I do not judge the people that earn off ads, I judge negatively the people that create the ads.
I all but don't watch actual television anymore save for one show and the News because of it. I rather spend money on boxsets and use work arounds then have to experience them.
Just the same, I absolutely hate Escapist Captcha because it's based on Advertising. It's literally using us as rudimentary marketing analysis and having us re-type corporate mottos to drive them into our skulls. The worse is, as of late, I've seen shows that have been incorporating advertising into the plot. Ex-Girlfriend made me watch "Secret Lives Of An American Teenager", all of sudden mid-conversation ***** starts going on about this product- which I'm assuming is fictional, and essential to the plot later on. Then the show cuts to a real commercial and they showed a real advertisement for it, I was beyond pissed. I can accept passive advertising, especially in the video game medium, but the moment it becomes a part of the plot? It's an insult to me- not only as viewer but as a story teller.

Do ads even work? I thought we as a people have grown to smart to be influenced by ads and commercials . The only point to ads i see is to make sure people know an item exists .
Capcha : love me ? No i hate you capcha .
And that is where you are incorrect.
Ads exist to create a problem in your life that does not actually exist, there by making you feel like you *NEED* a product rather than *WANT* one. It's actually kind of brain washing.
