Have you ever had that moment when you were happy a TV show you don't watch is ending?

This doesn't necessarily have to be a show you thought was bad, necessarily, or dragging down the quality of television, but as the title says, have you ever been happy to see a TV show end when you don't even watch that show?

For me, it is Breaking Bad. Don't get me wrong, I've heard good things about it. Actually, that is the problem. I've heard way too many people raving about how awesome the show is, and saying I have to watch it. Part of me is glad that it is ending on Sunday, because that may finally stem the flow of "have to watches" I hear.

Are there any shows like that for you?

I'm ready for One Piece to just end. They have 600+ episodes and I think a few movies and OVAs, it's time to stop. I don't even have the will to try and watch it because of that episode count and I dislike pirates. If it ended today I would be happy and for no reason at all. I don't hate the show, I just think it needs to end.

No. But when Glee is finally over, it'll be a proud day and bring about world peace. That show is fucking stupid and I'm sick of hearing about it.

Dexter. It was really interesting for the first two seasons and then it got less good with every following season, leading to the closing season that is universally considered horrible. So i'm thankful there won't be more of it, if only because it means that they can't follow up with something even worse.

I call shenanigans on that. Season 4 was the best season and then it was all downhill from there.

Well, stuff like this is always subjective, but i think we can agree that it is a good thing that the show comes to an end.

I honestly wanted Heroes to end, no offense to any Heroes fan. I thought it looked pretty lame, although I never watched.

No. I don't watch it, I don't care if and when it stops airing.
Except maybe in the case of Lost. Man was I glad those conversations were over.

I agree with Breaking Bad, that and Game of Thrones. I'm quite tired of hearing about it when I've never asked about the show ever before.

Ever.
Before.

No. I typically ignore shows that I don't like and I zone out when people talk about them.

I like to think that they're giving me time to think about things while they talk about shows that I don't care for.

It's very considerate of them if you think about it. :D

I couldn't agree more! I loathe that show!

I'm glad Dexter ended as well and I cannot wait for Breaking Bad to go away just because I don't watch it and am tired of being surrounded by comments about it.

In general, any show that is popular. I don't watch a lot of TV, and the TV I do watch is almost all online because the shows aren't actually on TV. As you can imagine, there is a very high chance a popular show is one I don't watch, but I am constantly being told how good it is and listen to people droll on and on about how they can't wait to catch the next episode or what happened in the last episode. Seeing it come to end really makes me excited, because then I know that I won't have to listen to talk about it anymore.

However, I will say I had an unusually strong joy at hearing that Breaking Bad was coming to an end.

Well... Besides MOST (if not ALL) reality shows, I can't think of any... So, I'll just use shows that have been mentioned in this thread and see if I can agree in some way... Hopefully I can think of a show that hasn't been named already...

Breaking Bad - Yeah, I LOVE Breaking Bad and I'm sad that it's ending... But, yeah after Season 4, I had a VERY HARD TIME trying to think of how the creator himself was going to top that... "Why not an aftermath-like final season?" SOLD!

One Piece - It's the only show mentioned on this thread I have split-down-the-middle mixed feelings... which can mostly be broken down to "How big IS this world? And they've been at seas for MORE than 2 years??" (I don't know anything about ship sailing, I guess...)

Glee - Yeah, I kinda wished they ended after Season 3... "You can't be Degrassi meets Fame, you know!" The best thing about the show is that they haven't sung any song that I have on my Ipod... (which consist of Gorillaz, Anime, and Ponies... Not the best way of comparing playlist options...)

Dexter - The show never really clicked for me, so I can't say I'm "too" happy that it's ending...

Heroes - The show should have ended with just that one season... (Maybe after Season 2...) Really started to loose interest after that... (Sorry Hiro...)

Lost - Glad that show was over... Even more glad I don't have to rewatch it via "Lost 2.0" on G4... (RIP G4...)

Game of Thrones - Eh... I have the books... Enough said... (When's the next book, Martin?)

OH! I just found a show I'll be happy when it ends (that's not a reality show): The Big Band Theory

THAT was a show all of my "non-nerd" friends wanted me to watch... I watched it... I will be happy when it's over... (Don't get me wrong... There's some redeeming qualities, but not enough for me to invest more time into watching it...)

That and Mad Men... I still don't know how to feel knowing that Mad Men is lasting longer than Breaking Bad... (Still like Jon Hamm, though...)

As much as I dislike some shows, I can't say I care if they stay or go. I've come to the realization that TV Channels are full of executive morons who will cancel shows that are great (not even going to mention the obligatory *redacted* that is so universally loved) in favor of crap simply because they have no clue HOW to schedule the timeslot to get the most out of said shows. I also feel that with the advent of Netflix putting out original material (House of Cards, Orange is the New Black) and resurrecting favorite shows that were cancelled (Arrested Development) and the subsequent success that streaming TV is on the rise and the old format will start to fade. It will take some time since these executive-idiots just don't see that technology is surpassing their way of life.
Like maybe the only show I would be happy if it ended is Big Bang Theory. I sometimes feel that it misrepresents the culture it portrays and isn't funny but a subtle insult to nerd culture. Especially because it has a laugh track... canned laughter just makes me feel like it defeats the purpose of telling a joke as it assumes you have to be told something is funny... Plus its also a bit of an annoyance that when I was young being smart and nerdy was not cool.

Shame others don't share that frame of mind.

Nope, it's "I don't like this/I don't watch this/I don't like hearing others talk about something they like, therefore I wish it would go away."

Because...I mean...fuck other people for enjoying something I don't, right?

Oh dear lord that finale. It was probably the worst thing I've ever watched, and I watched all of Heroes.

I think I need strong drink just thinking about it...
