In the first Gears of War when you kill the Beserker you get an acheivement called 'My love is like a speeding truck' which is a lyric from the song 'Beserker' which Silent Bob dances to in Clerks.

Yeah, you better be impressed.

In the Oblivion 'Arena' quest line at one stage, you get to pick a nick-name for yourself. There's about 6 male titles and 6 female titles. They sort of go hand in hand though, in the sense that "Male option 1" is the equivillent of "Female option 1". Point is...

Male Title Option: ManOwar
Female Title Option: Iron Maiden

When I noticed the male one I laughed a bit because I love Manowar and didn't realise it was an intentional reference. But after seeing the female one, I was so impressed.

/Edited.

IIRC, it's "My love for you is like a truck...BERSERKER, BERSERKER!!!"

I thought that was hilarious when I got it. Can't think of anything else off the top of my head.

Trent Reznor was responsible for music in the original Quake, Rob Zombie was involved in that of Quake 2.

Iron Maiden references, from Wiki:

- Iron Maiden made a video game called Ed Hunter in which familiar places like "22 Acacia Avenue" are visited.

- An Item in the MMORPG RuneScape called Edward the Cranium is a reference to Eddie, whose full name is Eddie the Head.

- Eddie can be unlocked as a playable character in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4.

- Eddie is referenced in the game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City by Cousin Ed in a conversation with Lazlow, who replaced Cousin Ed for his job at V-Rock. As Cousin Ed talks about how he is marginally better than Lazlow for V-Rock, he states, "Do you know who the mascot of Iron Maiden is?" Lazlow replies, "It's a puppy." And Cousin Ed replies, "It's Eddie. Get it? Eddie? Cousin Ed?" Eddie is also seen on a poster in the window of "Rock City" in the game.

- In the music video game Guitar Hero II, the player visits a venue based on a Vans Warped Tour. The encore effect - A special stage occurrence that enters when the fifth and final song in a tier is played - for this venue is that of a giant, zombie-like puppet bearing a big similarity in appearance to Eddie that appears and dronishly hangs over the entire stage. This effect is also used in Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s where the Warped Tour venue makes a re-appearance. Coincidentally, the encore that is being played with the stage effect when progressing through the "Career" mode is a cover of "Wrathchild", from Iron Maiden's second album, Killers.

- Eddie (along with Iron Maiden) appears as a major non-player character in the Flash adventure game The Terrific Menace of the Invaders from Audiogalaxy.

- There is a boss in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night called Beelzebub, the lord of the flies, which is a reference to the X-Factor single Lord of the Flies (song). The boss is some kind of giant zombie with an open mouth, red eyes and white hair, like Eddie.

- The upcoming video game Brutal Legend stars Jack Black as Eddie Riggs, a band's roadie sent back to ancient times to save humanity from demons with an axe, a magic guitar, and a posse of headbangers. The name Eddie Riggs is an homage to Eddie the Head and his creator, Derek Riggs.

I remember Guybrush Threepwood also puns about Iron Maiden in Escape From Monkey Island, when viewing an actual iron maiden.

EDIT- Ha, it's on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqAyKj1FqZU

There's a Fear Factory reference in Fallout 3, in some research notes on a computer terminal, in the Museum of Technology.

"The virus that has been plaguing our Archetype Model FF06 Mainframe due to an unknown attack has finally been localized by our research team and identified. After a complete cleanup on the mainframe's core, I am happy to announce that the infection has been removed...the soul of this machine has improved.

B. Bell, Research Lead"
I also seem to remember a Ronnie James Dio - Holy Diver reference in some game, I think it was a RPG, maybe Fable...but I can't remember the specific details at the moment.

There was at least one reference to Spinal Tap in the original Fable.

Oh, and "Ozzie, Flea and Slash" in Chrono Trigger.

Gears of War 2 had an achievement "Freebaird" Freed Baird from capture. I'm not sure but like the guys from Epic said that they refferenced the achievement names from 80's music and films it might be from Freebird by lynyrd skynyrd.
