Hello Sailor! Resi Evil: Revelations Costumes Revealed

Spice up your zombie slaying with these naughty nautical garments.

A large portion of Resident Evil: Revelations takes place on a boat. You might have guessed this from the cover, which depicts an eerie eyeball peering through a boat window - or porthole, if you prefer the suggestive parlance of the high seas. Fortunately for those of you who like to be as immersed as possible in your virtual ooze-monster-slaying cruises, the 360, PS3, WII U and PC ports of Revelations come with a set of unlockable costumes more consistent with the game's nautical theme, as you can sea below:

Okay, the first two are boat-related. Sexy sailor and sexy pirate. That makes sense. But what exactly is the third one supposed to be? Sexy ... ninja pirate? Huh. Regardless, all of these costumes can be unlocked during normal gameplay, and will be available to use in the game's excellent (excellent ) Raid mode.

Those of you about to argue that the costumes inject an unsuitable amount of levity into Resident Evil's otherwise entirely serious storyline would do well to remember that Resident Evil 2 let you play as a giant, ambulatory piece of tofu.

Resident Evil: Revelations was originally released on 3DS last year. The upgraded, HD port is set to ship for 360, PS3, Wii U and PC on May 20th.

That cropping is awful. The first costume is mantastic. I just want to say I'm pretty happy to read these are unlockable, as opposed to purchasable via dlc.

Of course the last one is also a pirate. Ain't you ever seen Project A?
Also, what's with the retarded cropping on the line-up?
Going with the spirit of a zombie game, it was decided to remove their heads.

Chris kinda looks like he wants to be in the navy. :p

My first thought wasn't about the tone in contrast to a "serious" storyline so much as the fact that I always thought that there was some point when Resident Evil was supposed to be somewhat about survival-horror.

Playing a giant walking piece of tofu isn't really the same kind of 'silly' as Chris Redfield wearing hotpants and a sailor suit.

My interest has been piqued by that pirate costume though, as a person who's never played a Resident Evil game before.

Ninja pirate? Heresy! Utter heresy against all things pirate good sir! I've had men BLAMMED! for lesser offenses I'll have you know!

OT: Well atleast the first two outfits are good, something sexy for girls and then for guys but the last one makes no bloody sense at all...

Hopefully this won't suck and I'll get it later this year when it goes on sale. Also what's up with the cropping on those pics man? D:

The pipe really sells that first costume. I would so play as Village Person Chris Redfield. And I genuinely appreciate that they put silly costumes in RE games. Why not have a bit of whackiness in your videogame? They're always optional anyway. Unfortunately, I never managed to unlock the Tofu in RE2. I sucked too much :(

It told me I got the Captcha wrong, but apparently it posted anyway. Could a Mod please remove this second post?

Does Chris Redfield's costume come with a mp3 copy of In the Navy by The Village People? XD

Jill looks like the hostess for a pirate themed restaurant.

The third one (not sure who that is) looks like a pirate/ninja designed by the RZA.

They all look nice but I prefer Leon's gangster outfit in RE4.
