So for a school assignment that I've been putting off for far too long, we heave to make a plea about something. So I decided to take a page out of Jim's and Shamus' books and rant about always-online DRM for 10 minutes. While I do have some decent arguments (server issues, publishers having complete control over user access and the European ruling on digital resale), my teacher requires us to actually have decent sources to back up our arguments. (Using facts to prove your point? Shocking!)

Anyway, this is where you guys hopefully come in. While I will obviously do some fact-checking myself, I was hoping you guys could point me to specific data. Any arguments against DRM are appreciated, especially if they come with data. For example, I heard some people complain that their internet simply isn't good enough for this type of DRM, and I was hoping you could name some specific places. Any arguments for DRM which I can debunk are also appreciated.

Finally, I was hoping if someone could tell me how many weeks Diablo 3 and SimCity had server issues, and if cracks are available. You don't need to provide links if you feel uncomfortable doing so, though I'd like the modding overlords to know that this is for strictly educational purposes.

TL;DR I'm looking for arguments against DRM, and I'd appreciate any you could offer.
