Hey there Escapists!

I know a lot of you are on Steam and I wanted some advice regarding games that they sell because I really don't use my computer enough for gaming and I have a decent gaming laptop.

Here's an idea of what I'm into:

-Story, art design, environment and high polish, I'm really big on these elements as much as gameplay

-Action/Adventure games like God of War III or Uncharted 2

-Western RPGs like Oblivion or Mass Effect

-JRPGs like Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest

-Third Person Shooters like Gears of War or Red Dead Redemption

-Platformers like Super Mario or Ratchet and Clank

-First Person Shooters but I like them to have good single player or cooperative play like Borderlands or Bioshock. I get pwned in multi

-Puzzle games like Portal or PB Winterbottom

-Arcade games like Castle Crashers or Braid

-Simulations like the Sims or Animal Crossing

-starting to get into survival horror/thrillers like Dead Space and Alan Wake

-I also like period pieces, sci-fi and fantasy as settings

-I really dig cooperative multiplayer

To give you an idea of my skill level I have been gaming for over two decades but am rather average because I play a lot of different titles and don't tend to play any single title over and over to get really good at it. I do however have the ability to pick up and play just about any genre

I am open to suggestions that deviate from these and am fine with older or "classic" titles as well so long as they've aged well.

I really would appreciate some recommendations here folks. Thanks much.

sounds like you don't need any help. You could just throw a dart and hit something you'll like.

I know there are a lot of games in these genres but I want to know the really good ones. You know what I mean?

yeah, but it's sort of hard when you have such broad tastes to give you any real advice. How about I just tell you what I'd buy if I had the money?

Yeah, I'm down with that, absolutely.

Valve Complete Pack (I only have the Orange Box, so there's a lot of value there)

Both Indie Packs (Those games are always innovative, because they need to be to survive and they don't have ridiculous overhead keeping the innovation in check)

^ Unreal Deal pack (I love the unreal tournament shooters)

* Bioshock 2 (For 14 bucks, I'm sure the game is worth every penny)

or The 2k Bundle, it's 90 bucks, but has all of the borderlands content, both bioshocks, and a shit tonne of sid meier games, Plus the Stronghold collection.. Damn, wish I had money for this one actually)

Telltale Everything Pack (it's 50 bucks, but it probably contains 1000 hours worth of adventure game fun)

The id Super Pack (if you don't have any of the older id Shooters)

Plants Vs Zombies

*'s are today's deals only, for the next 19 hours

Oh, and it's not onsale, but the Magic the Gathering game is EXCELLENT if you have a couple friends that like to play Magic (and you like Magic of course) I managed to get a few of my friends to get it as well, and we've been playing it pretty much non-stop all week
