For gaming, office work and web browsing, the Intel 12600KF is probably still sufficient for a minimum of 8 years in my experience.
I get very good benchmark scores with this CPU:

This is with RAM at 6000 MHz and no overclock. Suppose I do RAM at 8000 MHz and an overclock then I get similar results to the i9-14900K (stock) with RAM at 6000 MHz:

An Intel 12600KF with RAM at 7200 MHz (or higher) is plenty fast in most games and apps you use most of the time.
Cool. Octane 2.0 is not the benchmark you want for a cpu's gaming performance tho. For example, with the same gpu, that 7800X3D beats the 12600K in framerate tests across the board in recent games. It also often beats the 13700KF, and is not that far behind the 14900K, especially when you consider price-performance.

I've not tried Octane 2.0.
I use https://www.passmark.com/ though I'm not sure what their ranking number reflects real world performance. Your 7800X3D is less "powerful" than my 9-7900X3D yet I believe you are getting a higher FPS in games than I as it appears to be, at a minimum, better optimized for games. Maybe someday I'll get some use out of that extra power. ITMT I mighta saved a few bucks but I did get mine on sale.
