Long story short, I have a bunch of money, and I want a new video card. But I'm very unsure on how to buy them. I don't know if you need certain requirements with your computer or stuff like that, but all I really want from one is the ability to pay next-gen games without epic lag and such. I'd be willing to go from £70-£85, and would be willing for any and all suggestions.

I'd appreciate all help.
Thanks guys.

Do you know what kind of connector your current card uses (PCI [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:pCI_Slots_Digon3.JPG], AGP (the top one) [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:AGP_slot.jpg], PCI Express x16(the long ones) [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:pCIExpress.jpg])? Does your power supply have a PCI connector (the black 3x2 one) [http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/pcie6.jpg]? These may require you to open your computer to look at the ports.

I actually can't check it at the moment, and it'll be a week or so before I can. If you could post a few good ones anyway, I'll see if they'd be compatible when I open up my computer.

Okay. If you have a PCI Express x16 connector and a power connector (or an adapter that converts two of the white 4-pin ones), I'd go with one of these:
GeForce 9800GT 1GB [http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=421675&CatId=0]
Radeon HD4850 512MB [http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=421502&CatId=0] <- this one will probably be better

If you don't have a power connector then try these:
Radeon HD5670 512MB [http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=417120&CatId=0] <- This one will probably be better
GeForce GT240 1GB [http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=421679&CatId=0]

If you have an AGP slot you should probably upgrade your computer. But here's something to choose from anyway:
With a PCI power connector:
Radeon HD3850 512MB [http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=311652&CatId=2691]
Without a PCI power connector (but it does require a Molex, the white 4-pin ones, which you should have):
Radeon HD4650 1GB [http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=421212&CatId=2691]

These are just what I found on Misco. You may be able to find others, but I think this is a good start.

Thanks. These do generally seem to be better than my current card, so I'm going to save these for when I do find out what I have.
Much appreciated.

I'm still open for more suggestion, to anyone else here.
