So we've had threads when a trailer for a big film is put online and talk about them.
I figured it might be worth having a thread for trailers for films with less public awareness (at least at the time of posting the trailer) that happened to catch your eye (doesn't have to be specifically indie just lower profile studio films). Maybe if nothing else it could lead to people seeing some films they might want to check out
I'll start with 3 I've run across
So remember when the Chucky Reboot made Chucky an AI controlled Toy that went psycho?
Yeh did some-one order that but creepy child size female doll and a bigger budget?
It could my eye because they really did pull out a lot of the creepy doll / creepy child tropes here but somehow it looks like it could work.
2) Did some-one order Santa Claus does Die Hard?
Caught my eye because it seems like the studio were happy to fully commit to it. They've not gone fully grim gritty realism here they've actually leaned into the "No Santa is actually magical" angle here so we have Santa using magic and weaponised Christmas decorations against the robber along with some of their own weapons.
3) Next a film from a smaller studio which is YA plot formula B about overthrowing the corrupt elite taking all the resources for themselves but with the kid in question this time having magic plant powers and holy crap those are some nice looking visuals in this one.
Caught my eye mostly because of the visuals but also kinda cool we're not going to have the YA novel normal warrior archetype protagonist or version of it where the character uses their abilities in a normal fighting way.
So over to you everyone else, stumbled upon any trailers that have piqued your interest in a film you'd not heard of before?
