Heroes of The Storm's Newest Hero is WC3's Blademaster

Samuro, The Blademaster was one of WarCraft 3's most popular Hero units.

The latest hero to be announced for Blizzard's hero brawler:WarCraft 3 [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/tag/view/heroes%20of%20the%20storm?os=heroes+of+the+storm]'s most popular hero units, and now he is finally heading to the nexus.

Samuro is the last remaining Blademaster to wear the burning blade banner, making him a pretty important character in Warcraft lore. You can check out his cinematic introduction trailer to the right, and his official hero page [http://us.battle.net/heroes/en/heroes/samuro/#?skin=theBlademaster] to find out about his abilities. WarCraft 3 fans will be excited to know that his abilities are more or less exactly the same as they were in WC3.

Here's a quick summary:

Trait
Advancing Strike
Basic Attacks against enemy Heroes increase your Movement Speed by 25% for 2 seconds.
Mirror Image (Q)
Create 2 Mirror Images that deal 30% of your damage and have 50% of your current Health. Images last up to 18 seconds, and only 2 can be active at once.
Critical Strike (W)
Your next Basic Attack within 10 seconds will be a Critical Strike, dealing 50% increased damage. This also applies to Mirror Images and does not break Wind Walk.
Passive: You and your Mirror Images deal a Critical Strike every 4th Basic Attack.
Wind Walk (E)
Enter Stealth for up to 8 seconds or until you attack, use an Ability, or take damage. While Stealthed, your Movement Speed is increased by 25% and you can pass through other units.
Damage taken during the first 1 second will not break Wind Walk.
Bladestorm (R)
Become an unstoppable whirlwind, dealing moderate damage to nearby enemies every second for 4 seconds.
Illusion Master (R)
Switch places with the target Mirror Image.
Passive: You can control Mirror Images separately or as a group, and they deal an additional 15% of your damage.

We don't have a time frame for when Samuro will be released, but keep an eye out for him on the PTR next week.

As soon as I heard that the hero would be revealed via Samwise doing a sketch, I guessed that it would be Samuro. Looks like I was right.

Oh, and I think the Burning Blade clan is a bit past redemption. Just saying...

I like HotS well enough, but as someone who's never played a MOBA before, Blizzard shoots out their heroes a little bit too fast for my taste. I've hardly learned the tactics of the five or six heroes I usually play as, how am I supposed to learn what the new ones can do so fast? Let alone pay for them...

It's usually 2 heroes a month, which isn't too bad. Generally you don't need to worry that much about new heroes, especially they're seemingly OP since that usually means they're going to get nerfed in some way. You can always see what they can do on the "Try" mode option in the store, sure it's not as good as actually playing them in a game but it gives you a nice preview. My advice is just concentrate on the 5-6 you enjoy playing now, get really comfortable with them and then you can spread out to other heroes.

Whenever the newer heroes gets on the weekly free hero rotation (Gul'dan and Auriel for example were there not too long after their release) try them then so you can see how they play and if you'd like them enough to want to get them. (eventually) This will give you a better idea on how they play, which is really all you need at first. Yes you'll eventually want to know how everyone works in detail but that's far down the line and for now you can just keep having fun with your current heroes.

Actually, that makes a lot of sense. Thank you very much for your advice!

Why the hell did they pollute the "starcraft event" with an overwatch hero yet now they go back to populate the roster with even more warcraft?
If the need for more overwatch heroes is ohsohurgent that they absolutely had to butcher an event dedicated to starcraft, put that wow shit away right now and add genji, symmetra & co instead.

Blademaster was my favorite hero in warcraft 3, glad to see his basic kit is pretty much identical.

They released two new starcraft maps which is a much bigger addition than heroes...

This usually comes up every time a WC character is announced. They HAVE to do more WC heroes because Starcraft, Diablo and Overwatch have less characters combined than Warcraft does, so either they stagger each release with WC or they skip WC for ages and then having nothing BUT WC til the end of time.

The "Starcraft event" was a Starcraft hero, TWO maps, and a gold event.

An Overwatch character hardly "butchered" the event. No need to be dramatic
And some Starcraft-themed skins. Pretty cool ones too.
