Heroes of The Storm's Next Heroes are Diablo's Wizard And Necromancer

Blizzard has revealed the next two heroes to join the nexus in Heroes of The Storm.

Blizzard has just revealed who the next two heroes to join Heroes of The Storm [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/tag/view/heroes%20of%20the%20storm?os=heroes+of+the+storm] will be, and its good news for Diablo fans as they are both from the Diablo universe. They are Diablo III's Wizard and Diablo II's Necromancer.

The Wizard is a ranged assassin with a very high skill cap - her skillshots are absolutely crucial to her kit and getting good with them will be how players improve. The Necromancer on the other hand is a specialist who can either specialize in building up a big undead army, or debuffing his opponents.

Check them out in action below:

Here are their respective kits:

Li-Ming, The Wizard

Trait - Critical Mass: participating in a kill or assist lowers cooldowns of all skills (including Heroics).
Magic Missile: skillshot that shoots three missiles at a target point.
Arcane Orb: moderate speed projectile with very long range, dealing more damage the further away enemies are.
Teleport: can be used to quickly move around and avoid skillshots.
1st Heroic - Disintegrate: channeling wave of energy that is aimed with the cursor.
2nd Heroic - Wave of Force: can detonate a ranged "telekinetic bomb", knocking enemies away from its center and cancelling channeling.

Xul, the Necromancer

Trait - Skeleton Raise: raise up to 4 skeletons from dead minions for about 15 seconds.
Spectral Reaper: it's a reverse skillshot, create a scythe in a target place and then comes towards him.
Cursed Strike: enhance his auto attacks so that they deal area damage and slow enemy attack speed by 50%.
Bone Prison: targeted ability, not a skillshot. Roots an enemy hero after 2 seconds.
Bonus Ability (1 Key) - Bone Armor: gives you a shield for 25% of your health for 3 seconds.
1st Heroic - Poison Nova: big poison explosion that deals massive damage over time to enemies hit.
2nd Heroic - Skeleton Mages: Creates a line of mages that slows anybody they hit.

Very disappointed that they didn't use a Necromancer from the Diablo lore. Like Zayl would have been much more entertaining because you could include a second voice actor for his awesome, funny talking-skull companion Humbart. Or even build some abilities around him. Or we just make him a random dude we have never seen or heard of before. Makes sense for some classes from the Diablo games, but not the older ones tbh.

Eh, a lot of the older characters only got their lore retroactively anyway, Hell, the PC in Diablo 1 was only revealed to be Leoric's son in Diablo 3 IIRC
That and I can't remember the interview but I know they want to make more OCs for creative liberty reasons or at least to make more marketable characters, like they did with the other Diablo Classes and the SC2 Medic and Siege Tank

OT: I do love me some specialists so I am keen to see how Xul shapes up, I just wonder if he'll be as good at steamrolling forts as Azmodan, that guy can just spam his W Summon for days with the right talents and if you focus all your pushing into a single lane with your Trait, he can quickly wear out ammo with far less risk then Sylvannas.

Problem is most fans wouldn't know who Zayl was. And at least Xul represents the necromancer from D2, who is still a character within the setting, regardless of what his name is. In a world where we get Hammer instead of Duke, and Morales instead of characters like Stettman, Haley, or Cassidy, I'll welcome any canonical characters I can get.

Eh, I still prefer Sylvanas when it comes to taking out forts. I find being able to keep buildings stun-locked is one of the best abilities in the game.

OT: Pffft, what kind of scrublord goes with a straight-arcane build on the Wizard? For that matter, what kinda scrublord with an Arcane Wizard doesn't have Archon form? Wtf, Blizz? Learn2Play!

:p

Well, at least they're not more WC heroes. I know a lot of people have been asking for the Necromancer for a while now, so it's nice to finally get him. Personally the Wizard is my best/favorite class in D3, but that build is just silly. I'm sure she'll do fine, though.

Agreed, he was my fav in the second game.

I'm hoping we a Starcraft themed arena/stage at some point, as it's my favorite Bliz franchise.

Apparently Archon is a level 20 talent? Its probably just a renamed Arcane Power, but you never know.

Actually, there was a stream where Kent-Eric, a Blizz developper, was interviewed, and he said that the Archon talent would be a toggle. When you toggle Archon on, you lose all your skills and instead get a Disintegrate that you can use indefinitely. Very similar to the Diablo 3 Archon.
