So, you ever watch something and go "Hey! I Recognize That Voice/Person from *someplace else*?'

Today I was watching "Star Wars: The Clone Wars S05E07 - A Test of Strength' and realized that
David Tennant (The 10th Doctor) was playing Huyang (A Master lightsaber teacher/builder).

Cue Whovian nerd moment of "OMG! OMG! OMG! THE DOCTOR IS PLAYING A MASTER!'.

The first time I watched one of the episodes from Avatar: The Last Airbender that had George Takei as the warden, I couldn't for the life of me figure out why I knew the voice. It took watching a random episode of Futurama afterwards I was like, Holy crap, it's that guy from Star Trek.

Yeah, there's a bunch of people I can (usually) recognise by voice. Most of them come from the Mass Effect games.

Recently while playing XCOM one of my assault soldiers yelled something along the lines of "Hunt 'em down!" and I suddenly realised that I evidently had Jack on my squad. A few minutes later I noticed that the medic next to her was talking with the voice of Ashley Williams.

While watching Battlestar Galactica I was constantly bugged by the voice of Colonel Tigh until I realised it was Commander Bailey.

On the other hand, I never learned Bailey's name, because he was always "Officer Tigh" in my head.

Tim Curry's voice is very easy to pick out, and tends to make me happier whenever I hear it.

And of course, Captain Anderson's voice can be heard practically EVERYWHERE.
Yeah, him too.

I didn't mention Keith David, Jennifer Hale or Steve Blum because, well, yeah... they're in everything.

Garrus was a Sniper in the United States Army before joining C-Sec.

Also, Craig Boone is Tino from The Weekenders.

I was watching Spoonys review of FFX and thought that main protagonist sounded familiar. Well it turns out the guy also voiced Ratchet.

As a general rule, voice actors tend to do a LOT of voices roles, often no-you would expect. Here is a few examples:

Steve Blum: Amon (Legend of Korra), Spike (Cowboy Bebop), Grunt (Mass Effect) Tom 2-4 (Toonami)

Tara Strong: Bubbles (Powerpuff Girls), Twilight Sparkle (My Little Pony: FIM), Timmy Turner (Fairly Odd Parents)

Frank Welker: All season 1 Decepticons besides Thunder Wave (Transformers), almost EVERY version Freddy since the show began AND recent versions of Scooby Doo (Scooby Doo), virtually every single animal sound you hear in ANY film.

And that is not even scratching the surface.

A couple of years back, when I first played Risen, I was floored when I finally met the Don and instantly knew that epic grizzly voice of John Rhys-Davies. A great surprise that was.

Steve Blum does do Garrus, though and the other roles you listed are his "deep, cool" voice. I'd also add Gilmon from Digimon Tamers, and Leeron from Gurren Lagann to show more of his unexpectedly wide range.

Steve Blum was one for me. (Whom coincidentally I have the autograph of)
I was watching Legend of Korra a while ago and when Amon started talking I was like "OH MY GOD, IT'S ZABUZA!". I know he was more well known as Orochimaru (?) in Naruto, but I was never really a fan of that anime. I did like Zabuza though, he was a total badass and a half.

Edit: Also, when I spoke to Martin Septim in Oblivion I kept thinking to myself "Is that Boromir? No that can't be Boromir... But that sounds so much like Sean Bean dammit" so I googled it and found out that my hunch was correct.

Also, Liam Neeson as the dad on Fallout 3. All of my yes.

Well the recent incarnation of the show Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, the guy (Greg Cipes) who voice Michelangelo in the show also used to voice Beast Boy from Teen Titans!

Also from the same show, Donatello is also voice by Rob Paulsen who once voiced Raphael back in the 1987 show! Mind you I didn't reognize the voice due to not watching the old shows for ages (someone mention it online).

in Fallout 3, when I talked to the old guy in Megaton, I was like "OMG! It's KANG THE MAD! Awesome!!"

Then I realized he was basically every man that was older then 60

Yeah happened to me recently while watching the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle show (it's actually not half bad). It took me a while to remember where I recognised Donatello's voice. It was Rob Paulsen, who has a long list of voice credits, but now I can't take Donatello serious as the smart one of the group when I keep hearing this guy

Also funfact: Rob Paulsen also voiced Raphael in the '80s cartoon.

You've either got Steve Blum confused with Brandon Keener, or Garrus confused with Grunt.

This summer when I watched the Amazing Spiderman I couldn't shake the feeling that uncle Ben was secretly evil. Then I realized that he is Martin Sheen, the actor who does the voice of the Illusive Man. I'd seen him in the Departed before but completely forgotten what he looked like.

Then there's also Hannah Mckay from Dexter. When I first saw her I couldn't help but see something familiar in her face. Then it dawned on me that she is Miranda Lawson as a blonde.

Johnny Yong Bosch seems to be in every single thing I play/watch. That guy voices way too many characters and I can always recognise his voice.

I recognized Starbuck on the same show (different episode). And I'm tuned in to Jen Taylor's voice whenever I hear it. But I can't decide whether I know her as Cortana or Zoey.

Plus there's never a time when I don't spot John DiMaggio. Kim Possible, Bender, Gears of War, that new Star Wars game. He's a good voice actor but he's not the chameleon that Billy West is. And having met him I know how much that statement will burn him.
