Hitman and Payday.

Hitman (For those who don't know) is a game series based around the agent 47 and his trials in assassination and murder. Neat little machanics like being able to dress up like the enemy and having first and third person views in gameplay make the game what it is.

Payday: The Heist is about groups of crimals pulling crimes around various objectives like robbing banks, stealing armored vehicles, and so on. The four criminals can be played by seperate players in what is, essentially, a 4 four player session of Left-4-Dead but with a more strategic gameplay.

Both seem fantastic and I can't wait to get my hands on them.

Although, I worry about them.

After the watching previous gameplay of Hitman, it's looking more like an Assassin's Creed clone with chest high walls out the wazoo. If I can recall, one of the ledge grabs looks amazing similar to Ezio's ledge grab. I'm also worried about the worlds being linear. Hitman is all about how you approach the situation, not having one straight path.

Payday worries me a bit because of the gameplay. Gunplay and objectives look fine but there isn't really a penalty for other players to go around blowing your cover and killing civilians.

Of course, I might be over-reacting a bit.

So I was just curious to see what you guys feel about the titles.

Hitman Absolution doesnt have Jesper Kyd doing the soundtrack or David Bateson voicing 47 (Which both have been apart of all 4 games). Bateson infact stated on the Eidos forums that IO isn't returning his calls. The soundtrack of all the games has always been a major selling point for me, and it's disappointing Kyd isn't apart of it.

I am not too interested in the game as a result. The Hitman games have always been about studying patterns and using your perception to the environment. The gameplay just resembles a dumbed down version.

If Absolution is as good as Blood Money, I'm totally in. I've been playing that on my PS2 after I picked it up for like 5 bucks at GameStop... and after ignoring the franchise for my whole life.

And about Payday, it's kind of the same way in Left 4 Dead. One of the tricks to a co-op game is always finding the right team.
