Homestar Runner and Strong Bad Return in New Video

Homestar and Strong Bad have returned for a new video, but don't get your hopes up, they did the same thing a few years ago only to never update afterwards...

Remember Homestar Runner [http://www.homestarrunner.com/]? A relic of a simpler time of the internet, where .gifs of dancing babies dominated the landscape and video content was delivered via adobe flash. Homestar slid off everyone's radar quite a few years ago, but now the team is back, and have released a brand new video featuring Homestar and his more popular counterpart, Strong Bad. Check it out to the right.

In the video, Homestar finds an old, unpublished children's book, which apparently mirrors Homestar creators The Brothers Chaps themselves stumbling upon an old, unpublished script for the series. Strong Bad reads the book, which features Homestar and his friends facing off against Strong Bad, Strong Mad, and "Dijery Doo" in an athletics contest.

Before you get your hopes up and start writing up an e-mail to Strong Bad, back in 2014 pretty much the same thing happened [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/133427-Homestar-Runner-Updates-For-The-First-Time-in-Four-Years]. Homestar was updated for the first time in four years... and then just went blank again. So don't get your hopes up for regular updates, but enjoy the video.

Uh, this was uploaded twelve days ago on the website (yes, I still check it out on a semi-regular basis). There's also been a few other videos this year, including a Halloween toon and a special edition of Marzipan's Answering Machine.

But yeah, I wouldn't count on a return to H*R's heyday of uploading on a weekly basis. The Brothers Chaps have other priorities now, and they only post something new when they feel like it.

As nice as it is to see something new from these guys... I don't think there will be anything else for a while. All we get these days are the annual April Fools and Halloween episodes. It's kinda depressing, honestly.

The guys who do Homestar are mostly doing a show for Disney called Two More Eggs. The episodes are all on youtube (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLg6R6yXKSLYDm2piDZL8n22qlt_olZUeJ)
