I love horrible fan-art and fan-fiction. Like, probably much more than I should. I find it endlessly entertaining. From My Immortal to the Bad Sonic Fan Art tumblr, I find it one of the most endlessly amusing things in the world. Horrible AMVs can also be really incredible as well. So... Share some of the worst fan-art and -fiction you have found, so we can marvel at other people's madness!

I don't think the first one is horrible, its at least technically competent (though it has that stiffness/flatness that amatur stuff can have...or maybe I'm nitpicking)...its grotesque but I think that was the point, which makes it kinda funny

OT: I once read a really bad fan fic where commander shepard is in a club and she's wearing a COBOY HAT she's wearing a cowboy hat and cowboy boots and she meets thane and they have really messy angry causal sex

Yeah I don't get it either. It's like they walked straight out of a My Chemical Romance concert from like 8 years ago. Plus it makes it incredibly hard to admit you like Sonic games these days.

Where the plot of Harry Potters is changed to be more "Christian". Dursleys are evil atheists. Dumbledore is a reverend. Hogwarts houses represent different denominations of Christianity. Just some of the gems. And all that wrapped with terrible writing. I recommend checking it out, I was legit laughing out loud at this.

OT: I've got nothing, sorry. My reaction to bad fanfiction is usually horrified fascination, but I tend to block them out afterwards. The pain and psychological scarring is too great you understand.

OT: I don't tend to remember really bad fan fiction. The only "bad" fan fiction I remember are the first several MLP fan fiction by Argembarger. I say "bad" because I think they're hilarious and god-like in how bad they are.

I started writing a fanfic of Sword Art Online. The protagonists were 3 girls, one of which was a gamer that kinda roped her non-gamer friends into playing with her. I went for less dark and edgy and more friends fighting and getting stronger together but tried to avoid as many of the typical "friendship" and shounen tropes as I could. I always thought that SAO was full of wasted potential and thought I'd see if I could "do it better".

I won't post it because it's not online and because I doubt anyone would find it interesting at all.

My friend and I recently did a competition of 'what's the worst fanfic we can find' which... well, let's just say I can't show any of the fics we found lest I get warnings for leud or violent content. Alas, the best of the worst are almost always clop or gore fics...

One I can discuss though is the Conversion Bureau set of fics in MLP, alongside practically any Human-in-Equestria fic. They're all just... awful, and this is coming from someone with really low standards when it comes to fanfic anyway.

There's just something about shoving a human into a colourful pony world that forces shitty authors to start bitching about the evils of humanity and how amazing ponies are and that people are bad and evil. I don't care for your psuedo-intellectual bullshit gleamed from a first-year philosophy course, if I wanted to do that I'd just... well, go read first-year philosophy papers.

Oh but you've missed the lovely mess that is the equally bad, "humanity fuck yeah!" fics that developed as a response to those. The military fetishism that paints the ponies as xenophobic alien invaders or has humans as generic "badasses" whose only real trait is talking obsessively about how humans would so totally be able to beat the ponies in a standup military conflict, because of course there's going to be military conflict, how else would you make humans the good guys if they aren't blowing things up like it's a Michael bay movie. Can't forget the high handed moralizing about how war and conflict make humanity superior and more advanced to the fictional candy colored magic ponies.

Really just 90% of everything involving humans in MLP fiction tends to devolve into one of three things: wish fulfillment self-insert mary sues, the humans are all unrepentant bastards misanthropy, or the humans are all totally awesome and the characters fall down in worship of humanities utter superiority.

Ug, it's like all the problems with Mass Effect fanfiction with the sci-fi replaced with fantasy.
