How are people that stupid...

So, we have another Steam sale going on right now, and the same facepalm-inducing thing keeps happening involving the sale of GTA games. I recall the exact same thing happening at Christmas time, and I can only assume it's happened before that too.

Here's what I mean...
The current places of GTA game packages on Steam's best-selling list:

No.1 - the Grand Theft Auto COMPLETE PACKAGE
No.8 - the Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition
No.14 - Grand Theft Auto IV

All of which are the exact same price of £5. It baffles me that people are stupid enough to buy the 2nd or 3rd option, and it baffles me even more that the latter 2 options are as high-selling as they are.

This was kind of a mini-rant, so I guess for discussion value, what instances of people being as stupid as this can you recall?

EDIT: The GTA IV: Complete Edition is actually £6.24, and not £5, but people are still stupid enough to not buy the complete package.

Many people may already have the old complete pack (every GTA bar 4 and expansions) so they just got 4 (or 4+ expansions) to fill in the gap.

It's not hard.

But they could at least buy the GTA IV: Complete Edition then, instead of just GTA IV on its own.

Some may not want EFLC and just want to try GTA 4 on it's own.

Eh, I get annoyed over such small things, and I'm sick of seeing people complain about girls and friendzones and such.

Agreed. Even though I find GTA IV as boring as watching a political debate (Personal opinion. Damn sure not fact), that is a pretty stupid move.

The real idiots here are rockstar.

Ah well alright nevermind, I was mistaken.

But yeah Rockstar are the idiots for setting the complete pack and the base game for the same price.

Yup ok, Rockstar are idiots for failing at pricing... why should this bother any of us? We're the ones winning HUGE with these sales with no shortage of games, expansions and DLC to choose from. One company's such odd pricing practices shouldn't even matter, just take advantage of what you see as being the best value and leave it at that.

So leave them be. If they can't be bothered to scroll down one extra inch to see a better deal, why should it bother you? I thank you for bringing it to our attention in case anyone was considering buying GTA IV but for everyone else, so what?

I bought Killing Floor at what I considered to be a reasonable price a mere two hours before it went on sale. I messed up, no big deal, I live with it. Why should this bother anyone else except me?

EDIT: I think they just suck at counting pounds.

At full price, the price of GTA4 is 40% of the GTA complete package in US dollars. Whereas in pounds, the price of GTA4 is equal to the Complete Package.

The actual sale price is $5 US for GTA4 and $12.50 for GTA Complete

So that's why people are buying GTA4 instead of the complete package. Because apparently there's an error in their pricing for European countries.

However, the top steam sale lists aren't region based.
