yeah I know I just got the game today and already have met the mod limit (which isnt that much) and I have seen ways to surpass this and add more mods, how do I do that and is their a very simple way?

Edit: no I didnt download 255 mods, apparently, downloading 15 or so is the same as 255.

edit again: also I think I may have deleated a non-mod becuase for some reason now their is no floor and I keep falling through the ground.

The limit of 255 mods is hard coded and there is no way to bypass it directly. The only solution is to use compilation mods or do all the hard work yourself.

255 isn't that much!? Wow. I'd love to see what your game looks like..
A more snide part of me might say something like:

"My guess would be most of them are required to make the game run properly."

But that'd just be silly.

I'm one of the ones who were satisfied with vanilla... I know, I'm weird.

Oblivion? Run properly? Is that possible? Now, I loves me some Oblivion, but I have the official patches, I have the unofficial patches, I have patches to the unofficial patches, and it still crashes whenever it damn well pleases.

Protip: Autosave upon entering a new location is a great way to crash that game.
Better still: It's defaulted to on.

Now this is the first I've heard of a "mod limit". 255 seems generous, but then again, I guess some can hit that on the first day. If I find anything out to help you (it could happen), I'll edit this, but until then, Eclectic Dreck seems to have your answer.

Also, I too want to see want to see what your Oblivion looks like now with 255 mods.

I didnt even download 255 mods but apparently I did somehow. 0.o

also I think I may have deleated something that isnt a mod becuase now, when I load my file, I fall through the floor becuase their is no longer a floor. 0.o

I downloaded like a total of 15 mods that apparently is the same as 255.

I've been meaning to maybe play some Oblivion sometime soon. Are there any mods that are just so far beyond badass that I can't miss it?

If you only have 15 mods then how do you know you have reached mod limit then as you obviously haven't. The floor thing is due to textures being wrongly added or deleted so to fix that you will have to reinstall game. I know modding can be a pain sometimes which is why you should back up the original Oblivion files athlough if did do this just move the backup copy into the Oblivion folder.

when I loaded up the game it would crash, I searched the mod limit and a person who was at the limit got the same problem. when I unclicked mods off it would start normally but if I turned off the ones that were on and then the ones that were off, on then it would work. but I cant have them all on despite none of them being contractions.

Ok that is not because you have reached the mod limit that is because you have a mod installed wrongly. Are you using Oblivion mod manager? If not get it after you uninstall and reinstalling Oblivion unless you have the Data Folder backed up which if you don't do it after this. Also the next time you get mods keep a copy of the mod as well so you have a back up of all your mods if something goes wrong.

Edit: It might just be easier to unistall has some mods are conflicting for whatever reason. It could be because they are intalled wrongly or they generally conflict you should double check before you unistall.

well I deleted all the mods that caused the problems so if I have to reinstall the mods that did work, then that wont be hard. unless the mods will stay if I uninstall and reinstall.

Well if uninstall and reinstall them everything should work fine. Also I have to ask again do you have Oblivion Mod Manager [http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2097]? If not get it as it will make your life much easier.

Dude you are nuts. 255 on day one? Granted I didnt play the game vanilla either but I only went with a few things like adding some teleports to the mage towers, graphics upgrades, and tons of bug fixes. How could you possibly need more than 255?

Just got the game and already using mods? Play it through without first, then with mods. Start small. Not 255 on the first go, that's just stupid. That many will fuck up your game and make it worthless.
