Work is boring, we all know this as scientific fact but how do you stop it from being so boring that you kill small animals? How do YOU stay entertained at work?

Isn't the solution to actually work so you aren't bored?
You, my friend, obviously have no idea how boring my actual work is.

Lucky for you who can access the internet at work since I work in retail.
The only time I get bored is when it's my clean up duty during the last hour or two before my shift finish (depend on my hours on that work). This task involve going back to front of the sales floor and make the whole place neat and tidy and also fronting the products so it doesn't look empty. I have no problem if it's less than an hour but two hours?
I don't know how I beat the boredom from that as my only concern doing that task is trying to walk as little as possible (I wear shoes so walking too much from that make my feet ache).

I wish I could spend it here however, my workplace has blocked all access to online gaming and such related sites.

Try trolling your boss... I've done that a couple times... once filled his mailbox with MLP related stuff, he laughed his head off...

I remember when I worked at a bookstore and we had to make sure every book was squared away as possible on the display tables. Then we had to wipe down the shelves and front merchandise. Then the managers will call everyone together to complain we didn't sell enough member cards. I don't know if that is worse or working the registers and trying to get angry people to buy said cards.

Now I'm a teacher at an English school where I have ample spare time. While designing stuff for classes, I tend to always have my instant messengers on, this site open, and I listen to my mp3 player. Better pay, more respect, and a nice swivel chair, glad to be out of retail ^^. (In retail it was 'if you have time to lean you have time to clean *shudders* my poor feet)

This website and webcomics. It's not really boredom though, more procrastination.

I would love to do that, but I sincerely doubt that my boss would have the same reaction.

I get too busy at work that I have no time to get bored, some days I take a very short lunch break just so we can keep on top of the workload.

Oh so much this.
I probably post here more often when I'm at work than I do at home.

I also had some fun with portals in the office today.

Do it in a way your not in the direct line of fire thats the key part, or create other mild irritations around the office, such as unplugging everything but the power and monitor from a pc then sitting but not connecting everything else into the back of the pc.

Most muppets look at the back of the pc see everything "connected" then flip out and cause choas.

Or super glueing the pcs mouse to the desk... with that said if your found with super glue on your desk or in your draws at this company, your now sent straight to HR... damn nazis.

Another great one if you want some downtime in the office, get a pin and poke it through an ethernet cable a few times. Generally it won't break the connection just cause it to drop alot of packets and thus cause latency, takes sometime for that to get fixed.
