How do you handle a break up?

I change my hairstyle, change my image a bit, seems to make me feel better if I don't see the me that the guy had as his girlfriend. sounds weird, but it does make me feel miles better.

Well, after 11 months, me and my girlfriend have broken up. Not going into details, but other than beer, jazz and hitting stuff, how do you handle a break up? I'm sure that there are quite a few comical ways, and quite a few sombering ways.

Scorched earth strategy.

Obliterate all traces of the person's presence in your life. Throw out all pictures and memorabilia, block them, then delete all contact information on every social networking venue.

Once complete, you will never be reminded of them, and forgetting them will come naturally. By briefly forgetting them, you learn to connect with other people, and then forgetting them becomes even easier.

I go to a movie usually a thriller with my friends stop by a gaming store and than play video games the rest of the night.

Fly to a far off town and meet new girls. Party really hard, and forget about the girl.

Or, the other fun thing to do is go on a camping trip with you buddies. Go hike somewhere between 5-10 miles into the woods and drink excessively.

The last time I was broken up with, was on the phone, and it went like this.

Bofus: Hey GF!
GF: Hey Bofus.....
Bofus: Hey, you ready to go to the rather expensive show I got us tickets for tonight?
GF: Yeah, about that, I don't think this is going to work out.
Bofus: *takes a few seconds to register* Oh....um....I didn't expect that...Bai?
XGF: Bai.
Bofus: *calls up other chick*
Other chick: Hey Bofus!
Bofus: Hey, you wanna go to a rather expensive show tonight?
OC: Hell yeah!

......I think the reason she broke up with me was that I didn't really seem to care. Guilty.
