When was the last time George Lucas was excited for something? Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull? We all remember how that turned out!
Oh Keane. Must you jump on that silly band-wagon?

I'm not worried about this at all. It's Bioware, not George.
I'd be worried because it's Bioware though I admit I would be petrified if George had anything to do with it at all.
George had something to do with KotOR, and that turned out fine, thankfully.

I think Bioware has some resistance to George's dumbassness.

this is my single biggest issue with Lucas. sure, the new trilogy was pretty lame, and indiana jones was, for the sake of a better word, completely and utterly anally raped. But what he did to such a wonderful game, to promote his new movie, sickens me to no end. As a result, the more active he stays with this game, the less likely I am to play it, thereby killing any chance of being horribly disappointed again.

actually, SW:G was awesome untill SOE reared its ugly game ethics, in-fact, George was for a long time looking for a Dev. that WASNT owned by SOE, and what happened? Bioware got bought......by SOE......
Are you sure on that one, seeing as the TOR website is being hosted on an EA server, and Mass Effect was an EA title, and that would make sense since I read the Bioware is part of EA http://kotaku.com/gaming/ea/ea-buys-bioware-pandemic-309937.php

You must have missed the part about how you should be worried about Blackman, not Lucas, cause Lucas sure as hell doesn't know how to code, although that would explain a few mediocre titles if he did, but no Blackman was involved in what happened with Galaxies, whether it was coding or project lead I don't know, but he was involved, and now he's the right (cyborg) hand of Lucas and the video games division being a project lead on anything they do.

Think of Bioware as the Irvin Kershner (Empire Strikes Back director) of the Star Wars games universe, yeah George is giving the story and script, but fortunately Bioware are interpreting what they are reading into something far better.

NO. I don't want to see George Lucas involved at all with Star Wars: The Old Republic. Lucas wasn't involved with KoTOR and look how well that turned out.

Lucas can't write worth a shit, Bioware can actually write a story with a meaningful narrative. If Old Republic is anything like Galaxies, we're fucked.

It's not Lucas you should be worried about, it's Blackman, Force Unleashed sold well, but my god what a bug ridden POS, and pale in comparison to the Jedi Knight series for quality and storyline, don't forget saber fights...were actually saber fights, not a button masher. He also had a hand in destroying SW Galaxies, and helped code the crappiest of LA games...Battle For naboo (the Batman and Robin of the gaming world).
Force Unleashed was much better written than the prequels. really, I think comparing it to the Jedi Knight series is a bit unfair. After all, we do know that the Jedi Knight games were brilliant, but Force Unleashed is aimed at a wider demographic than Star Wars fans.

That's what I think anyway.

Agreed. Whatever happens, BioWare are going to have more input in this than Lucas, so I'm not worried about it. I am interested to see how a BioWare-quality story is going to work in an MMO, but I don't doubt they'll do a good job of it. Besides, even if the Bioware:Lucas ratio were 50:50, the awesomeness of BioWare should cancel out Lucas' various problems.

Despite what I just said, the rampant Lucas hatred does annoy me a bit. Ok, the prequel trilogy wasn't that good and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was horrible, but the man is still responsible for two of the greatest movie trilogies of all time. Give the guy a break.

Hopefully none whatsoever. The game would be improved a thousand times if George was sealed in an air tight room forever.
Fix'd.

I'm going to be honest. I hope the game is completely fucking awful. I hope a total three people buy the stupid thing, and one of them sells it back to Gamestop and buys a better game, like Too Human. I hope there are mass gatherings, where gamers burn copies of The Old Republic and dance around the flames. Then maybe LucasArts will finally have some sense knocked into them and make a proper fucking KOTOR 3.

I totally agree. Unless you actually think that Too Human was a good game and you are not being sarcastic as I very much hope.

Huh?

So your way of showing LA some sense is to buy loads of copies of the game, in turn giving them crap loads of money, and also making them think that people really love the game...and then burn them up, so you would then have to buy more of them for said bonfires of protest?

I just wiki'd Too human (because I never paid any attention to the game being advertised or bothered looking up trailers), your going to replace an MMO with an action game that has a short lived single player and an online (and almost too predictable) deathmatch/CTF mode, that doesn't reward you with much of anything?

Yeah that'll show em who's boss round here, and make them start work on KOTOR 3, which is pretty much what TOR is:/

Or you could buy the game for your collection of burning material and try it out, if I don't like it (which seems unlikely being a SW game junkie for the last 15 years) then it will just join the collection.

The same people that are talking all that nonsense about this game, Lucasarts, and Lucas himself are the same idiots who are gonna run out and spend the money to play it. It is easy to sell stuff to hypocrites and liars. Get off Lucas's jockstrap please. He's making money and if you like Transformers or all the other past garbage of the past few years including Iron Man and The Dark Knight but you didn't like the Star Wars Trilogy prequels, then you are a hypocrite and don't deserve to have money, pretty girls, or even a life.

...Because, you know, I was totally being serious about buying copies of the game to burn. hurr durr

You're obviously eagerly anticipating this game, so I'll keep this short so you won't be too offended, and then try to get into some half-baked fanboy argument over it: Whatever The Old Republic is, whether great or terrible game, it is NOT KOTOR 3.

And, yes, other guy that quoted me: I was being sarcastic. I used an obviously terrible game (shame on you Outamyhead for trusting wikipedia, too) to compare to The Old Republic, because I'm hoping it will be terrible.

Sarcasm doesn't work in text form.

Yep I am (was it obvious?), I don't normally do MMORPG's, the last one I played was back in 2004, so it does take something pretty interesting for me to be...interested, it's based about 300 years after Revan, and 3,500 before Vader, so still old republic, there may never be another KOTOR game (honestly how many times can you play a character that doesn't remember anything, picks up strays and then flies off to the outer rim?), Bioware certainly didn't comment on it when they were asked, they said that was up to LA, and they weren't keen on revealing anything about this game at the time.

Again sarcasm doesn't work in text form, unless you do /sarcasm or *sarcasm*, so I can only assume (like the other guy) that you were being serious.
