Does anyone else get this?

So I am sitting in front of my computer, looking at my steam libray. There are lot of great titles in there including Skyrim, KOTOR, Sleeping Dogs, Borderlands 2, and etc. But then.....I can't decide which one to play. Not because they are all so good that I can't decide which one i prefer to play, but because I'm just not in mood for any of them. I get of this situation usually in either three ways; Play Eeny, meeny, miny, moe, say "Fuck it" and click game at random, or just be w/e and shut down the pc.

How often do you get this dilemma and how do you handle it?

All the time. Like right now. I would be playing Fallout: New Vegas but it keeps crashing. Ive lately been jumping between various Sonic games. I keep tempting to playing an RPG, but I keep worrying I will lose interest part way through, then when I try to go back will be too lost and have to start over, wash and repeat. The Witcher 1, FF7, either Kotor are all such candidates.

Usually it ends up with me buying some game, but that game right now is Star Fox Zero, which requires me actually leaving the house. I need to get my Darkrai code, so I will do it soon...but I'm lazy.

Not too often. I've got a list of RPG's I need to play, so I make sure I'm always plugging away at one of those, and then I simultaneously play other genres and stuff to keep things fresh.

I've got a backlog of about 500 games, so I try to keep to some sort of structure.

I am familiar with the problem and have likely even started more than one thread asking the very same thing in the past. It is difficult at times but I look at it like dating. I recall being reluctant in starting a lengthy game as I wasn't sure I was ready for the large time commitment. However, I just found its best to just start playing what sounds good at the time and just try the game out. If you aren't hooked after a few hours no big deal. Try out a different game. You can always go back to the other game or even try another. Like dating you are simply getting a feel for how you connect to the person/game. Luckily with games they don't get jealous of each other and you are not likely to end up on Jerry Springer, so that makes it a bit easier.

Too often, especially now with certain sequels around the corner. I never got around to beating Uncharted 3 and I'm on my unteenth playthrough of Mirror's Edge.

Since getting a job, all the time.
It's not necessarily always a case of "Do I have time to play this?", but rather, "If I'm gone from it for three days, will I even still want to play it?"

I have the most useless attention span on the planet. If I can't marathon a game to story completion before I go to work the next time, it's likely I won't complete it at all. Mostly because, when those days pass, other things come up, such as friends wanting to play games or get together, or other important life things.

So I usually have to decide on something:
A. Really short, such as 6-8 hours. Something that I'm likely to beat in one or two sittings
B. Something REALLY long with a lot of content, such as an Elder Scrolls game or Fallout. That way, when I do actually get to come back for gaming, it's almost like a new experience anyway, and it's unlikely I'll finish in within 40 minutes.

Anything that has a playtime in between that (between 12-20 hours) I likely won't play, because I'll play as much as I can over the course of two days, go to work for two or three days with little freetime in between, and then come back with two days off and finish the game within only another hour. You know how it is, it's too long to complete quickly, but too short to keep coming back and dedicating your free time to it.

I know it's not a huge deal, but I like to have the proper time to settle into a game, and engross myself in it's world, so I have to pick and choose the games I play strategically, if that makes any sense at all.

Most of the time I have some back up short games that are different from my normal fare. FTL, Bunding of Isaac, Space Chem, Rogue Legacy for example. I don't mind dropping these games when I want to change.

I do sometimes get stuck when I can't play a game anymore because I didn't like it. The recent one was Wasteland 2, and I was so dissalussioned with games in general I actually turned on my TV instead of it just collecting dust. I watched a few shows then I started Gotham and had to go back to games because that is one silly show.

Every time I want to play a game, it's a deep and philosophical question that causes me days of soul searching. Then, I finally decide that, yes, I will fire up 100% Orange Juice in the hopes that someone joins my lobby.

If I already played it that week, I'll just go back to searching for answers to questions that shouldn't really exist.

With over 1000 titles in my library between multiple consoles, handhelds and my Steam library... yes. I get this A LOT. How do I deal? Just pick a game throw it in and hope it holds my attention.

A good 85% of the time. It's mostly dependant on whether or not any of my friends are on and 2hat they're doing. If they're on and playing something like World of Tanks I'll probably join them. If they're on YouTube or not on at all I'll probably play something single player, at which point I've usually got at least two different games to choose from. The only times I don't have to decide is if I'm in the middle of playing through a new game because I'm usually going to go for that before anything else.

I have it, but its not really a dilemma for me. I'll stand there and pursue my collection (across all generations) for 5 minutes deciding what to play next, but i'll always plump for something that suddenly stands out and tickles my fancy. I love having so much choice.

Quite often, particularly when longer games are involved. I don't have nearly as much time to kill as the days of my youth, so the prospect of starting a new game in an open world RPG or combat flight sim is daunting (which sucks, because they're two of my favorite genres).

More often than not (approximately 80% of the time) I just end up "making the rounds" logging onto a few online games (TF2, Star Trek Online) and the occasional half hour playing something else, usually consisting of a few levels from a platformer or a skirmish match against lower difficulty AI in an RTS. I guess you could say they're my "comfort food" for gaming.

Right now. Just got my PC back after 2 months because the video card died. Having been without it so long, I've got so much to do, I don't know what to do. Lol.
Is it appropriate to use #firstWorldProblems now?

Never, gaming is only my secondary hobby, below reading. So if I can't instantly think of a game to play when I have the time, I just grab the book I am reading. So almost always when I sit down to game I have a title in mind.

I usually get this when I am really excited about an upcoming game, like right now about Stellaris. I still have lots of other games that could tide me over somewhat, but they are not stellaris so I don't want to play them. God dammit.

It happens to me often after I'm done with a game that I have been dedicating all my free time in the last 4 - 6 weeks. I have a lot of games pending (thanks Steam sales), but almost nothing that I'm looking forward to start to play. But eventually I play one that I won't want to stop playing for 4 - 6 weeks.
