Now I can't really speak for everywhere but I can speak for a Good area of the US where Multi-Million dollar stores can be within miles of each other and still all make a profit also the Major retail chain in that I work. Now due to how Sony allocated it's shipments and productions the PS4 are pretty much out of stock and it's supply won't come anywhere near meeting the demand for everyone that can afford to having a PS4 under their Christmas tree. Now now before anyone goes fanboy or console wars over a statement like that I'll just say in my neck of the woods One has been pretty much "Oh your down to single digits, 20 more are on the way now"

Now I got to see an upcoming ad for "After Christmas" and guess whats gonna be "Guaranteed in stock, limited quantities" PS4's. Now these retailers and I'm pretty sure it will be more then once are BY LAW obligated to have what they advertise under Bait and Switch. Most of these stores will also be open before they even get their shipment, if they get any at all that is. They usually pack trucks the night before and the night before being Christmas probably not showing up, And of course they won't show up on Christmas. I don't think many shipping companies are as evil as retailers so you probably won't see much on Christmas Eve, so the Stock of PS4s will probably be in stores on the 23rd, 22nd more likely to leave a cushion.

With all that said, all of these stores, that want your after Christmas money, gift cards or whatever, Will be sitting on this product for days. Even if it's a handful at each store which it will likey be, That's still tens of thousands of systems held after when it probably matters most to people.

So happy hunting, and you'll probably need a lot more luck now if your looking for any covenanted item that " Will Be In Stock " After Christmas.

To me, thats not retail ruining Christmas. If people can't be happy because they couldn't get something that they wanted on Christmas, then that is their problem. Christmas isn't supposed to just be about opening gifts, thats just a perk of the holiday.

I really dont think it will kill people to get their desired item SHORTLY after Christmas. Products take time to be made, to be shipped, to be opened and put on the shelves. Its not retail's fault that stock doesnt get in before the holidays.
This, I really dont see why anyone would have a problem with just waiting a few days, does it really matter that much to have the present to be opened during christmas day? And does christmas even matter at all to be honest? Its a good excuse to gather the family and shit but you dont even need christmas for that, and the presents (like cloroxbb said) are a perk, nothing more.

If someone bought me a PS4 for Christmas and was like, "I'm really sorry, it couldn't get here on time..", I'd think they were crazy. WHO CARES?! You bought me a PS4! I'll wait a week, two weeks if I have to! The point is, I know it's going to get here, and that's what you bought me for Christmas! That's what Christmas is! It's not about the presents themselves, but that someone cared about you enough to get you those things, spending their hard earned money on you, and vice versa.
