Hello,

So my dear friends, i always been wondering if id Software the original developer of wolfenstein and developer of Doom would make new order and new colossus. how will it be like?

I think it will be alot like RTCW and Wolfenstein 2009. have same dark, sci fi and some horror elements, nazi, zombies, creatures etc. would focus more on gameplay and level design than (shitty) story.

RTCW was one of the best FPS ever made. instant classic with its movement, gameplay, the GOAT soundtracks, BJ was cool. and even thought 2009 one was disappointment. it still feel like wolfenstein.

by playing new order and new colossus. they never feel like wolfenstein game. especially new colossus. it may improve shooting from new order. but its also more boring than new order with one of the worst story/cutscenes i have ever ever seen. out of 3 new wolfenstein game. at least old blood was bearable.

I think id Software would have made wolfenstein like RTCW or new Doom. the focus on amazing gameplay and level design and no SJW crap. machinegames really ruined the franchise for me.

what do you think my friends? would wolfenstein game be better under id software?

I haven't played anything Wolfenstein since, I guess, Return to Castle Wolfenstein. What's the "SJW crap" you're talking about? Is Blackowitz not the hero in the story anymore, something like that?

1.I'm not your friend

2.There is little to no SJW crap in the game

3.While I really enjoy Doom 2016 the level design wasn't its best aspects hell I consider the new Wolfenstein games to have better level design.

Your opinions on games and how they should be made leads one to take said opinion with a mountainous pile of salt.
The moment you vaguely mention "SJW crap" without elaboration, whatever shred of credibility you had in your opening post is thrown to the wind.

That aside, if Doom 2016 is anything to by. A hypothetical new Wolfenstein under ID would probably steer towards being a mindless arena shooter, locked rooms with predetermined spawns (favoring reaction to the combat scenario over the player's approach to the combat scenario) and the player character being a walking camera with guns attached with zero personality. Any narrative elements would be stuffed into some journal/database with no attempt to elevate the stagnant FPS genre. So no.

What do you think SJW means?

There?s an argument to be had on that scene, whether it was over the top, emblematic of a kind of sloppy second half of the game, fits with the character or setting, etc. but I really can?t see how that scene has anything to do with social justice at all.

There isn?t any movement to include pregnant women on the battlefield or fight for women to go around topless, it?s not a social issue at all, it?s more like something you would see in a campy toxic avenger style B movie.

Ya'll talk a lot of shit about games you haven't played.

What makes watching a trailer or reading a wiki summary any justification of whether or not the game is good?

Well, I mean we can take a look at IDs track record in recent years (which won't include Return, that was over 15 years ago.)

Doom 2016 - Solid. But not really conducive to dealing with humans and such. Yeah, you can throw zombies and whatever in Wolfenstein (and the series has gone back and forth with it), but if you start getting into that as a mainline, you might as well just be making a Doom game instead.

Doom 3 has its defenders, but its gonna be a tough sell as a hardcore FPS. If the narrative and stealth gameplay of recent Wolfensteins irritates your FPS experience, I can't say that I'd buy you weren't offput by the attempts at horror elements and that ludicrous flashlight crap in D3.

The other ID title we've seen in recent times was RAGE. Almost an instant joke. Its a bit over-derided as a game, suffering from technical problems more then hefty gameplay criticisms. But despite decent gameplay when you got to it, suffered from a terrible story, bland open world, half-baked vehicle combat.

As a point of note, Wolfenstein 2009 wasn't ID. It was Raven Software. Raven Software was big thing back in the late 90s/early 2000s. Connaiseurs of this time period might recall Heretic, Hexen, Jedi Knight, that one good Voyager Star Trek game, and the original X-men Legends/Marvel Alliance games. Sadly, Activision seems to have obliterated them since and they're now just churning out Call of Duties as one of the rotating studios.

No, if a game doesn't look like it would appeal to me I don't play it. But I also don't judge a game that I haven't played at all. I think is just kinda lame to talk shit about a game that I have never even played. You might decide to not be interested in a game based on trailers, and that's fine. But you and B-Cell both spoke about elements in a game based on trailers and wiki articles with no context of how it fits into the game itself. Nor do you have any idea how the gameplay feels as you have never played it.

Then again I am explaining this to a person who hasn't liked a game since 2004, so perhaps I'm just wasting wear and tear on my keyboard.

I found the action in the newest Wolfenstein game way more engaging thanks to the context provided by the story. Otherwise this would be a good yet repetitve FPS(like Doom) but the story and characters gave it a sense of style and flair that motivated me to keep playing. Maybe if you fall somewhere on the spectrum you can just hyperfocus on the spinning hamster wheel but most anyone else would prefer an occasional diversion from the monotony of the gameplay.

I can only remember one SJW character in the game but this was so obviously tongue-in-cheek that she even got ***** slapped by a 'Nazi' when she rattled on. But I guess you need more than one B(rain)-Cell to see the obvious. I played through the entire game and I can't think of any moment that was cucked.

As usual, people here are defending the latest cinematic shooter. Interesting how the RPGCodexers are much more critical of this linear 40 percent story 60 percent gameplay shooter with crappy stealth crouching parts. And yeah, the story I read on Wikipedia was BAD. The game also seems less serious than the last one. Need I link the retarded nude pregnant gunfighter cutscene again or the interrupted fucking followed by that cheesy line? I can't believe playing so much of the beginning in a fucking wheelchair is a selling point that they advertised so much. This doesn't look good. Doom was good, not great, but pretty, pretty, pretty good, as LD would say.
As usual? Please, I see tons of people on this site bash pretty much every AAA game that comes out which is why I keep wondering if people on this website actually enjoy playing games at all or WHY they even bother with anything gaming.

OT: BJ used to be cool? That's news to me. He barely had any personality at all until The New Order. No, I wouldn't have liked ID software to make Wolfenstein more like Doom because I want Wolfenstein, not Doom.

I think focusing on 2 seconds of one cutscene and some gibberish you've made up in your head about the characters being a social agenda (cause if MachineGames was going for that, they've got some severe problems with stuff like their Jewish Conspiracy Wizard science guy and all Grace's resistance fighters being blaxploitation caricatures to answer on)

Its distracting from more legitimate criticism like the awful level design (which overflows both nto the stealth efforts, though its not the only issue with the implementation thereof, and makes the Dishonored-esque upgrades later in the game a pointless addition). Or the distinct lack of enemy variety, including the final boss you probably won't even realize is the final boss.

If I'm recalling correctly, Raven were also responsible for the two good Soldier of Fortune games.

It's the game of the decade because it appeals to all my social prejudices like that nazis might have had a few bad ideas and that big hunky US white manly man is the saviour of humanity and that well although I never played it that doesn't matter because God damn it a black man has intercourse with a white woman and that never happens in real life but it should because it appeals to my social prejudices and possible closet cuckophelia and basically this is all stuff I gots from the trailer but that's all I need to formulate this opinion you can't stop me can you? Freedom!!!! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHEHEH! It feels good to do this!!

I'm convinced a lot of these people here are just hipsters who need to ***** about bigger games or else they don't have a purpose in life.

After all, the internet made them realize everything else they liked was liked by other people and that's no good to them. Need to get that anger out somehow.

You'd think it'd be the other way around.
