How your favourite game should have ended

I've been witnessing a lot of fan outrage at the mass effect 3 ending (never played that series myself, it's never appealed to me.), and I was wondering if anyone has any better endings than what the developers put out. Silliness encouraged, please try to stay away from mass effect because that horse has been beaten hard enough to cause hydrogen fusion.

For me, it's the end of journey:

when your nomad dude collapsed in the snow, the game should have ended. Seriously, that was perfect. I didn't need that happy little fly around, I would have remembered the game that much more if it had ended right there.

Fallout:New Vegas
After capturing the Hoover Dam for the glory of an Independant New Vegas, you cut to you and all of the companions you have gotten in the game drinking in a casino. Then, cue in the slideshow.

Psychonauts.

I hate to be a buzzkill for a thread like this, but the ending was just perfect. There was no possible way they could've done that better. If someone thinks otherwise, please tell me

Those annoying little savages should have all died at the end of From Dust while i the worm god of picking things up and dropping them in more suitable locations desperately tried to save them from the unrelenting forces of nature.. but to no avail

Generally if a games ending disappoints me then it rather quickly slips from my internal list of favourite games...

Anyway let's go for a curveball, Final Fantasy 10, it should've ended with Final Fantasy 10, no part 2.

Persona 4. Exactly the same. Dat shit is perfect yo!

[sub]Except i'd probably throw some SwagtagonistxNaoto shipping in there at the end ;)[/sub]

Let's say that the runup and conclusion to the final boss fight is absolutely sublime in every way possible. Describing it wouldn't do it justice and would be spoilertastic so just go and play it yourself. Even if you don't like JPGs usually.

As for ME3, which was going to be on my favourite games of all time list until the ending. Just copypaste the closing episode of Gurren Lagann into the battle for Earth and we have a deal.

The funny thing is that a giant mecha fight against the oppression of these all-powerful beings is more in theme with ME3 than the actual ending.

Half Life 2

Dr. Breen pilots a custom made combine gunship and flies around trying to kill you as you make your way to the top of the Dark Energy reactor, and have to fight him using a combination of rockets and combine balls. when you finally take him down he flies to the top and crashes, you then engage breen in fisticuffs before picking him up with your supercharged gravity gun and shooting him into the reactor core.

The citadel explodes, the G-man swoops in and saves Gordon, pushes Alyx off the side to her death. Then cuts to Gordon and G-man sitting on the beach somewhere in the South Pacific drinking scotch, they brofist each other and it pauses for a few seconds..

Credits Roll.

Star Wars Battlefront II should have ended by having a third game come after it.

Vampire the Masquerade there should have been more than just combat at the end. I mean there should have been a combat, stealth, and a charismatic ending at least. Otherwise I love that game. They can keep the endings I just want the gameplay of the last bit to match the rest of the game.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.

Link kills Ganon and gets the Triforce, but finds that he can't use it because he actually was Ganon all along.

What do you mean? There was never a FFX-2.

That travesty never existed. Like the Matrix sequels never existed. Nope. Didn't happen.
Oh yeah, just like your post didn't happen. ¬___¬

KotOR2 explained nothing in the ending, you just flew off and it was over.

It suffered from major ME3 syndrome, not to mention all the cut content missing. The restoration helps significantly, but it can't fix the initial punch to the gut the game gives you the first time through.

Pokemon: After beating the elite four your character becomes the new Champion, forcing him to stay, standing in that room for all eternity waiting for challengers.

FFX: Upon reaching Yu Yevon he possesses each of your aeons one at a time, after slaying them all Yu Yevo possesses Tidus (technically he and eons are made of the same thing) forcing you to kill him in order to save Spira for good.

FFVII: Sephiroth impales cloud on his massive sword (no homo) tells him to stop being so emo before killing him.

Kingdom Hearts: After defeating ansem and sealing kingdom hearts all the worlds are restored, Sora and kiari return to their own world. Also Sora finally taps that.

ME3: Shepard has to make a painful choice, either activate the crucible wiping out the reaper threat or..... there is no or, Shepard activating the crucible and wiping out all the reapers makes sense no matter what type of Shepard you play, no need for multiple ending, perhaps a string of short cutscenes at the end explaining the effects of your choices.

Yeah...if then the game went on into a full sequel about Raz's adventures as a Psychonaut ;-P
