Huge Gundam Model Made from Gundam Model Trash
What do you do with all of the plastic detritus left over from building your Gundam models? You use it to build an even bigger Gundam model.

Now, don't get me wrong, here. As anyone who has looked at my desk knows, I enjoy building little plastic Gundam models as much as the next guy. But the big problem with the models - as with any plastic model - is this: What do you do with all the little plastic racks that hold the parts when you're done? You have quite a lot of debris left over, and if you don't throw it out, it just takes up space.
Me, I just throw it all out. But these Japanese fans got creative with their Gundam model leftovers. They stockpiled it from model after model, and when they had enough? Why, they used it to create a bigger Gundam model.
This RG (Recycle Grade) model of the iconic RX-78-2 Gundam mobile suit stands 10 feet tall, posed in the famous Chara Hobby [http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/6764/lastshooting.png] show in Tokyo this weekend.
It may not be life-sized [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/issues/issue_225/6705-Pilgrimage-to-Mecha], but that doesn't make it any less cool. Plus, it's recyclable. I can only hope that when we actually get around to making mobile suits for use in combat, they're as eco-friendly as this.
