Hyper Light Drifter Will Release Next Week on PC


Developer Heart Machine's Kickstarter-funded Hyper Light Drifter will be making its way to Mac and Windows PC next week.

In an announcement [https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1661802484/hyper-light-drifter/posts/1518661] on the Kickstarter page for action role-playing game Hyper Light Drifter, developer Heart Machine revealed that the game will be available on Mac and Windows PC on March 31.

"It's been an incredible adventure leading up to launch. I deeply appreciate everyone who has backed us, had faith in us, had patience through this process. You have all been wonderfully supportive and kind," the post reads. "We've put together an experience we are deeply proud of, pouring ourselves into it entirely, and we hope you love it."

The company is still working out some "final kinks" on the Linux build, and while the goal is to release that at the same time as Mac and PC, there is "the possibility of needing some extra time." Meanwhile, the console versions of the game will arrive sometime in 2016, according to the video.

I (well we I guess) have waited for long for a release date but this is pretty much Christmas day to me!

Ok scratch Battleborn or Overwatch as my next game purchase, I will be buying this on a heartbeat on that day assuming if I'm not working after work if I am working).

I backed this when it was being kickstarted and I was happy to learn it's finally gonna be released in a week. Hopefully it's as awesome as it looks.

I haven't heard of this game before now, and I'm really wishing I had. That looks amazing. I love the environments and what little of the story I could glean from that trailer. And that combat...I haven't seen combat like that since zone of the enders.

That said, I can't tell if this story is here because (presumably) this is a game lots of people were looking forward to and the release date is good to share, or (cynically) if it's here basically as an ad. Admittedly, I'll still get the game at some point regardless.

This game is so beautiful, it's amazing. The artists who worked on it did a great job. A nervous gameplay and demanding but still very enjoyable. A visually very successful universe giving a rather unique atmosphere to the game.
