A word to the wise: this thread is not intended to be taken too seriously, please don't post Wikipedia articles at me telling me the exact definition of a scientist. I won't read them.

I'm studying a biology course at University and earlier in the week I was doing a lab session where I extracted some DNA from a sample of bacteria. As I was looking at the DNA in my test tube one of the staff came up to me and likened the substance I was holding to Candyfloss. I turned, looked the staff member in the eye and said, "I think I would rather be holding candyfloss. I'm not sure that I'm a real scientist."

It was funny enough to brighten up a fairly boring lab session and she replied in a conspiritory whisper that she would prefer the candyfloss too.

Has anybody else had moments where they havn't been a "real" [your job/hobby/thing you were doing at the time]?

I'm studying history, and I get that feeling whenever I have to do an assignment.

I love learning about history, but I've come to realise that research and analysis and is a pain in the ass. I'd rather sit down in my own time and read about stuff somebody else has alredy figured out.

So yeah I guess that means I'm not a real historian. But now I'm at uni, I may as well enjoy it while I can and get a degree :p

When I sit for two and a half hours everyday in study writing reviews [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.180366-Pimpin-Reviews-Dragon-Age-Origins-DLC#5329223] I realize I am not a real student.
