"I Finally Found It!" Games You Wanted, Looked For A Long Time After...And Finally Found

So after binge-watching The Runaway Guys Fortune Street videos, I thought that the game seemed fun and wanted to buy it for myself. However, no matter how hard I looked, I couldn't find it, even though it should've been released in Europe too.

Today, however, I found it. There's an online store with a sister site that sells games for older consoles (For given value of "older"; The Wii isn't that old), and there, amongst the Wii games they offered, I finally found Fortune Street.

Or, as it turns out, Boom Street. Apparently the reason I couldn't find it is because it's not actually called Fortune Street over here. But nontheless, I'm stoked to have found it and bought it on the spot. It'll arrive sometime next week.

I had a similar experience with Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door some years ago. It's apparently stupidly rare in Sweden, and as such, it's more expensive now than it was when it was a new release or something. Not to mention, a bit hard to find. And I just happened to stumble upon it when searching for a new GameCube, as my old one was broken. So, with the GameCube and a copy of Luigi's Mansion, I got a hold of what's apparently a hard to get game. Life was good.

Also, stumbling upon Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga on the same site as I found Fortune Street.

You know how it is, right? You find a game you looked for, and even if you can't afford it, you get this

to have it. You see that there are few in stock, a sense of panic, if I don't buy this now, they might run out of stock...

Ah, that last part was a bit unrelated. Sorry.

But anyway, my question: What games have you wanted that you looked for and finally found after a long time? Either by accidentally stumbling upon it or having the fruit of your searching efforts rewarded.

I saw a copy of Kirby's Return to Dreamland for 49.95 in Wally's World the other day. Didn't get it though, since I have no one to co-op with, and that's all I'd really want it for. Picked up Fantasy Life for 3DS instead. Other M was also on the shelf for 80 bucks, but eh, I can snag that off ebay for 30. Certain Nintendo games tend to get stupidly expensive over time. Like Star Fox 3D, which is out of print now.

To me that would be Super Ateste althought it was thanks to someone on here (I typed out the description of the game in this game you played but can't remember the name of thread) that quoted me the name.

I only remember that game cos it actually shown the pliots (the video is the US/ EU version as in the original Japan, there was also a anime girl as co pliot) in a side scrolling/ top down shoot them up.

Now if only I can remember the name of this other game aswell (all I can remember was that it was like Tomb Raider but without being able to fight back and it was based on some French comic).

Klonoa: Door to Phantomile. I remembered playing the demo many times as a kid but was never sure what the game was called. Then I saw it on PSN store one day, did a little research and sure enough, it was the one I thought it was. Surprisingly enough it holds up really well, too.

I also recently stumbled across another game from the same demo-disk (I think) but I have not yet been able to get a hold of it: Einhander.

Back in the day I spent years looking for the Cowboy Bebop PS2 game, which was never officially released outside of Japan. I ended up getting a copy second hand from a bazaar in Buenos Aires, untranslated of course, so it was fun figuring out a game in a language I couldn't understand.

It also took me a while to find the first Disgaea game, and Dragon's Crown after that.

Suikoden V. The second hardest to find in the series. I used a 50 dollar bill my grandma gave me to get it. I switched wallets before using that bill. Now I need to find II, which is even harder to find and even more expensive. We'll see.

I remember when a friend of mine had just realized there was a Futurama game. Well, I was online and I told him about it over the phone, to which he replied, "THERE'S A FUTURAMA GAME!??". He went into a panicked frenzy, asking me to start checking eBay and such, but my response was simply to check Gamestop online. They were in stock, used of course. Then I told him to just check a local store. "No way, they won't have it," he countered. But I persisted, and the first store he went to had a copy for $20. Just one copy, mind you, and the last one for hundreds of miles.

I've been in possession of a sealed, black case copy of X-2 for about 7 years now. Never wanted it, still don't want it. Maybe I'll drop it off at a Goodwill or something.

I actually got really lucky after my friend showed me Persona 4. Went to a gamestop that had a few used PS2s left and went through the rack of used games. I was feeling pretty down because nothing was popping up...then I found one, exactly one, copy of Persona 4. Made my day.

I went looking for Gizmos and Gadgets for years, finally found it in some old DOS games collection. On a less recently successful note, I was pretty excited to find Psychonauts in that Humble Bundle package a couple years ago.

Megaman Legends was a ***** to track down. I finally found it behind a glass case at a used games store my friend dragged me to. I basically lost my shit. Apparently somebody came in the next day looking for it, so I lucked out pretty hard. Objectively, it's not the best game ever, but it's a huge part of my childhood.

Apparently it's getting really hard (and expensive) to find Siilent Hill 2. I must have got it before it became scarce, because I just walked into gamestop and grabbed a copy.

I tend to get excited anytime I find a decent anime at a store. I was too young to get the good shit during the 90's, so I'm trying to stock up now. It makes every pickup an event, though. I could kick myself for not buying Lain when I had the chance, I haven't seen it since.

Onimusha 2 and 3, found em' at my local game shop for £1 each! The funny was that on the way to the store me and my brother were wondering if they'd have them in stock. We got lucky!

About two years ago I was walking around a junk market, when I noticed a woman selling her collection of Game Boy Color games at ?5 a piece or 3 for ?10. That seemed a bit much considering 99,99% of the stuff I usually encounter is utter tripe and I didn't have any cash on me anyway, but I wanted decided to have a gander anyway.

Good thing I did, because among the crappy licensed games there were copies of Shantae, Zelda Oracle of Ages and Zelda Oracle of Seasons. They even came with the box and manuals, albeit not in pristine condition. Being somewhat of a minor retro collector, I'd been interested in all three for a while, but their price on eBay or in game shops that do retro was just too daunting (especially Shantae). I know you can get them on the 3DS Virtual Console, but that's just not the same to me as owning a real, physical copy of a retro game.

I asked her if she could hold onto them for me while I went to get some cash, but she went "nope, first come, first served". Earlier I had also spotted a guy I knew was a much more avid collector, so I pretty much sprinted towards the nearest ATM, because I knew they'd be gone if he got to them before I did. But I made it and now they are mine.

Virtua Quest... I already had the GameCube version and I was having a http://31.media.tumblr.com/avatar_9f83cea7b4fa_128.png to own the PS2 version... just to say that I have the PS2 version...
To make a short story even shorter, out of all of the places that had a working copy of the PS2 version, it turned out to be at a GameStop over 50 miles away from me... Good thing I inadvertently conquered my fear of the highway[footnote]Temporarily, basically...[/footnote] to drive there for it...

Other than that, out of all of the games to have the most trouble finding, why was finding the PS3 version of Sonic 06 the hardest? I mean, I can understand Mario Kart DS when I was trying to find that for my mom's birthday, but FUCKING seriously?? I was lucky enough that the formal GameStop employee at my local GameStop contacted me right when they received an extra used copy otherwise I would have came to my senses...

So there was this one point/click game on a derelict space ship, where you were a repair drone being chased by a renegade military drone...never got past lvl 2 and can't remember if for the life of me...

Digital Devil Saga 1 + 2. Finally found them, factory sealed, after searching for a good 2 years. That was a happy day, even if they were a mite expensive.

The other one that comes to mind is Chaos Legion. I heard it was similar to Devil May Cry, and this was when I was 10 and wasn't allowed to play M-rated games, so my only chance of playing a Devil May Cry-style game was by finding a copy of Chaos Legion. Took forever but my mom finally found one used in the Gamestop near her work. Cost me $60 and I never actually finished it...

You even have Suikoden Tactics and Suikoden Tiekris? Wow, I've never met someone who owned Tiekris.(let alone new it existed) I have all of the main games myself, just missing tactics and well, tiekris.

That game isn't worth even a quarter of that price, unless you get it for the sole purpose of wanting to discover how bad its story truly is.

OT: Uh... I dunno. I guess the most recent example would be when Gamestop started reselling the Metroid Prime Trilogy on the Wii, but I'd already owned Metroid Prime and Prime 2 on the Gamecube, so I'm not sure if it really counts.

I will always be proud of the fact that I'm one of the six people who bought Okami back in 2006, though.

combat mission. back in the day. played a demo on a magazine disc, i desperately wanted it but it was only available on that mythical thing they called "the internet" with a credit card.

took me a couple of years but i eventually found a copy in a bargain bin in a video store, i still have no idea what it was doing there, they dont sell pc games and never have apart from a single copy of a niche pc wargame
