Oh, well in that case, I'm up for that. Culling generation Y, before they can defend themselves! Look at them, mewling and pathetic! It sickens me.

Oh, sorry, I'm just practicing my villainous contempt. Carry on with the wanton slaughter, I'll join in later.
Hoi! I resent that! I do not mewl.

Sorry, culling the herd and all that.
Nothing personal...

mostly. I will tear your head off if you PM me. Just kidding of coarse, I would go with this too. I have met some very nice people on this sight and none will get mad at you unless your a troll or something. In fact I get a lot of PM's mainly on Avatars, so if you see one that interest's you then PM the person because you might share a common interest.
BTW where is your avatar from anyways? It sorta looks like it comes from gundam...
Gundam Seed Destiny. Athrun punching Shinn.

Just talk, if someone makes a point you like, click "reply" and agree with them, they might add you to their list of friends.

That sort of thing.
I disagree, after nearly 700 posts of spouting my general bs here I have yet to aquire a single "friend". Which actually doesn't bother me :s

OP, try a chatroom and become a regular there. Helps if you're usually on around the same time. I had a good 18 months on a myspace chatroom where a group of around 15 "regs" became pretty good buddies. Beware though, online "friends" bring a whole new set of shit to deal with, as most people online are only on it to ***** about things. Not to mention the whole "x is now in a long distance relationship with y" or "a really likes b but b is really into c so a is upset this evening". Seriously people, it's the internet...

I don't have any real friends either, or at least real world friends. *shrug* Really, its not as bad as it sounds.

But... I can be an online friend perhaps. Shoot me a PM if you like. :)

This is definitely true. I don't have that many posts yet, but still, nobody has spontaneously added me. I'm even part of a few groups, and still, nothing.

Kind of depressing, really.

If you don't mind my asking, if you have outside world friends why do you need online friends? or why don't you make some of your outside world friends into both?

I'd be your friend but I'm an unreliable asshole with narcissism and bad hygiene. It just really wouldn't work out, but thanks for playing!

Serious: Talk to people that you seem to have a common interest with, if they don't respond, move on to the next person in line. If you can't find anyone that "fits" then: Mass Murder. (that part wasn't serious... I can't believe I have to say that but... well... CYA)

I have heard great things about a website called "outside"
Dug it down. Too bright. Also the navigation was a bit iffy.
Controls are pretty intuitive though, it's got that going for it.
there's only one control mapping though which pissed me off

Surely you have all played this?
It's pretty good. You can make plenty of friends.
I object to that "no monthly fee" crap. They're called bills and taxes.

Yeah, sounds great. I prefer my online friends to my RL friends.

Get into some User Groups or start PMing people.
Yeah, they neither have the realistic means nor motivation to betray you. Well, outside of halo. But that's only when it's hilarious.

If you're looking to meet friends in a local area, look for a locally themed website. [/obvious]

Magnificent
Exquisite
Splendiferous
Uh...I've run out of long words to spell >.<

Well online friends. So I need help. Where are some good sites to meet people online? I am not looking for dating or anything like that. Any tips?
Play online games and talk a lot more.

Then add people as friends and slowly get to know them.

I have no real 'online friends' either. You might want to prefer 'offline friends' over the online variety, though.
