Nilili Mambo by Block B, who are apparantly korean? I dunno, but it sounds catchy as hell.

More embarassingly, I am rather fond of Ramstein's: Mann gegen Mann, which turned out to be purely about gay sex.... Boy it was an awkward moment when I watched that clip.

Simon and Martina [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOHyNSsSGkw&list=TLT3WeAPr621Az2DYkVjI5Wj9d-Flh6CwO] introduced me to a lot of Korean music (not only Pop) and I can't understand ANY Korean. But I love it! :D I'm basically addicted.. :p
Their website: Eat Your Kimchi [www.eatyourkimchi.com] is also a good place to go. :)

There was also a song from Macedonia in a Eurovision Song Contest that was really awesome. I don't even know which langage it is sung in. (Macedonian? is that the language in Macedonia?)

I can't believe it didn't win.

Not sure if this qualifies, but...

Game Exchange - Okami Part 1 [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wve4OyymzPY]

...I've always wondered what song Gaijin Goomba used at the beginning of this vid. (The one that starts at 0:20, not the intro title sequence song.)

The most recent song that comes to my mind is Risette's intro song from Persona 4:
I just finished this game for the first time a few weeks ago and it was great; too bad I just can't get into Persona 3 now, it feels boring after playing 4.

Another great one would be the opening song from Dragonball GT:
I know GT ain't the most loved season, but that intro is great...the memories.

Oh and this reminded me of another old anime from back when I was little - Sailor Moon, it was the only cartoon on national television 20 years ago:
it brings back some good memories

Edit: Uh forgot how to link a youtube vid, what was the syntax?
Edit2:Thanks Asita

Pretty much anime and k pop songs for me.

Can't understand it at all, but they are catchy.

They're singing complete nonsense, but it's made to sound like English does to a non-English speaker. Also the video is possibly one of the weirdest/best I've ever seen...

Not to derail the thread, but have you perhaps heard of 'buffalaxing?'

The musician Seal said once that this was why he never posted lyrics, he didn't want to get in the way of whatever connections the listener had made themselves with the music and words.

One of my favourite bands is Kaizers orchestra who hail from Norway and sing in Norwegian. I think they are amazing, and it helps that one of my closest friends was raised in Norway so she translates the lyrics for me. Here are a couple of their songs:

I haven't heard a song of theirs I want to skip.

As a Swede I can confirm that's what English songs sound like to me when I can't make out the lyrics.

OT: Can't think of any songs like that. The only band I can remember atm I didn't fully understand was Manu Chao, back when they were popular, but even then I understood most of it since a lot of the lyrics were in English and Spanish.

Nordman(Man from the North) are my most nostalgic band that I listened to constantly while growing up. It's a two-man band from the 90's that plays a mix of folk music, pop and rock. This song comes from their self-titled album Nordman and is in my opinion among the best albums ever. If you like this song you should definetly check out the rest of the album.
Nice, corny 90's video for you as well!

Here's one with lyrics on the video, so you can see some pronounciation!

Besides most anime Openings, Endings, and any Japanese Asian song in general, I find this German song to be off the hook:

Ironically, I first heard this song from an Evangelion AMV...

Honerable mentions go towards most of the other [foreign] music that I choose not to look up their original meaning because I'm too lazy to do that in the first place...

That would be [ youtube = video code]...sans spaces, of course. For your videos, that would be thus:

As for my own contribution...I think I'll go with O, Fortuna. It's one of those songs that probably everyone will go "I KNOW THAT ONE!" when they hear it, but comparatively few can identify by name, due in no small part to its popularity as dramatic/over-dramatic background music.
