I have taken it upon myself to defeat the grox.

As the title suggests I have decided to dedicate the next millennia or so to defeating the Grox in Spore. My question is, do the Grox take back planets? I googled it and found nothing, and I don't want to spend ages eating away at the massive Grox empire only to go back to previous settlements and find my work doubled. In addition any advice or tips would be appreciated. I have already made a start by cutting a foothold somewhere near the centre and I have no intention of stopping so do not attempt to dissuade me otherwise. (PS I am doing this in a mod where there are some pretty beefy weapons so this is not that brave but oh well.)

Id say about 10-20% of every planet in the game is owned by the Grox, it going to take about a month.

Also if you teraform the planet, they instantly leave, so use the staff of life.

My advice: Don't do it.All you get is some crappy Macguffin that lets you terrafrom 47 worlds (I see what you did there, EA) and a not amusing cutscene. I did see this on youtube, but it really doesn't seem worth the effort.

But, if you want the stress induced coma, go ahead.

Yes the Grox recolonize (and do so REALLY FAST) so you'll have to get each conquered planet to T1 or over.

That part of the game was so wierd. It was like Masters of Orion.

Anyway... good luck!

Interesting fact: In 40k the animals known as Grox are essentially angry lizardy space cows.

Apparently good with mustard.

Good luck. Write a journal of it and post it on the Internet and become a D-List Celebrity. I'd follow it.

Mayby thats why the Grox hate people?

I mean, i'd be angry too if somebody took my arm and ate it, forceing me to replace it with cybernetics.
