I like D&D sessions but for some reason I just can't enjoy this show...
I don't know what's really wrong about it :p

Wow. Must be pretty sad as the creator being put next to Yahtzee every week.

Just look at the comment numbers. Ouch.

I love this series. I've never played D&D, but I dunno, I enjoy watching it. Dunno why it's on the same day, and pretty much time, as Yahtzee though.

Pretty cool to see the guy in a Phobia t-shirt as well.

Really? I'm excited we're put next to Yahtzee. I watch his show after I watch ours.

I'm still amazed that even though some people don't like the show, they still come back and watch it and comment.

Oh, and there's a whole thread of comments listing how unimportant comment numbers are in the popularity of a show.

Look at the threads under the shows, there are no clamoring "FIRST" that you see in a ZP, no 95% shared opinion that it was "good" you don't see barely any at all of "Keep up the good work!"

The people who post on the threads generally don't like it, and you have to understand that people who LIKE it are more likely to post than people who have stopped caring because they don't.
We definitely appreciate you airing your views and we are actually fair ruthless about cancelling shows that aren't doing as well as they need to.

But this is a case where what you think you know about how things work is totally wrong, and its leading you to false conclusions. We actually crunch the numbers on things like this very carefully.

In fact, users are more likely to post if they do NOT like a show than if they do like a show. A show that everyone likes gets very few comments relative to its size. For instance, our most popular show (ZP) has only around 3 comments per 25 video streams. Our least popular show has 25 comments per 100 video streams. The difference between them is an order of magnitude. And this correlation holds true for every show on the site. More comments per video stream means fewer video streams.

The reason for this, of course, is that on the internet, nobody has anything nice to say. People generally only post to tell you're wrong, like you did to us, and like I'm doing now. The vast majority of folks who liked the show enjoyed it and moved on without saying anything, just like I didn't say anything to all the people I agreed with.

If we used the comments to decide which shows to keep, we'd have killed every show. When we first launched MovieBob, everybody who posted said they hated him - go back and read how snide and mean the comments were. Now he has one of the most popular shows on the site. Go back and read about ZP when we first launched him. Tons of negativity about how we ruined The Escapist.

The actual metric of interest is thus not the number of negative comments, but the rate of change of comments versus traffic over time.

By those metrics, we see Axe growing.

Honestly? I actually happen to quite like Axe. The idea that anyone can be a closet geek is oddly comforting to me, a public metalhead and gym rat but secret nerd du jour.

Plus I'm developing a growing crush on Justine, who's absolutely hilarious.

That was awesome how Justine was tossed up and turned goblins to stone. Summoning the rat and the Giant Bee is great cuz it reminds me of the episode of Doctor Who with Agatha Christie and a Giant Alien Bee. I can't wait to see what that flask of vomit is capable of. One time I played a D&D game where my fellow characters and I were graduation from a school and got a gift of tiny arrows too small for a bow and too weak for a crossbow but apparently we found out later when I stabbed an evil wizard with it that they were in fact Acid Darts.

I'm waiting for the batshit crazy creative shit to happen my group once caried around polymorphed giant's (goldfish)just so they could throw it in a room kill it and have it expand and kill everything in the room, otherwise it's a novel concept the net can use more shows that are difirent.

You girls should let yourself go if you can make the DM doubt you've won.

And why not have it at the same time as Yahtzee it's the internets it'll be on here forever.

Ah vomit - it's the food that once was and could be again (if you're a dog or a really disgusting person)! For some reason I'm reminded of the time we were wandering around in a labyrinth and encountered some "droppings", which I'm sure the DM intended just to indicate that something unpleasant was living in the area. He probably wasn't expecting our cleric to announce that he was picking the turd up and putting it in his pack - I believe his reasoning was "You never know when having feces on hand will be useful!", which is the sort of logic I can really get behind because it's freaking hilarious.

Of course it turned out there never was any poop in his pack because we weren't even in a labyrinth and had been hallucinating the last two gaming sessions, so his cunning plan to pick everything up no matter how disgusting was thwarted, but I like to think he would have found some way to actually use it eventually.

I noticed that too, particularly early in the series. I guess they either tapered off or came around. Though it's nice to see more positive comments as the series matures.

Heh, were you around for Game Dogs? Great show, nothing but people going out of their way to say how much they hated it. I really hope Season 2 comes back, I loved the entire premise, and hope it wasn't ruined by a vocal minority...

Also, this show kicks ass (See? At least one positive comment!)! It reminds me of my games of D&D. Sadly, my games were all with butt-ugly guys, but the situations we got into are more or less the same :p I need to run a game where the potions are all marked "Vomit". My guess is it's mistranslated. Or it's a kind of laxative.

Also, are you guys gonna bring back any of the guest stars? Sasha was great, and Justine is just exceptionally entertaining.

I loved Game Dogs!! I want more! Not sure why people didn't like it. But i'm glad to hear that other people liked it too.

I'm happy to see a bunch of friends, young men and women getting their geek on with one of the most fun gaming activities around.
What's better than a bunch of friends and snacks and drinks and monsters and dungeons?
No one bothering with being sexy, just having fun.
And kudos to your DM, he's doing a great job.

I don't see what all the bitching is about really, the first few episodes were kind of shaky but it got better and easier to follow pretty quick and it's pretty damn entertaining. The story they've been playing keeps getting progressively more interesting and I can't wait to see what happens next each week.

I've been interested in D&D since I played with a few friends in the 6th grade but we were made to stop because someone got pissy about kids playing that sort of thing at school. I've introduced a couple of friends to this series so maybe it will spark their interest and I can get something going.

I don't really see a problem with it being put next to ZP every week either. People are going to watch it or they're not, no one is here making each of us choose every week between Axe and ZP. I watch ZP first and while I'm watching Yahtzee do his thing I have Axe buffering in the background because it takes longer to load. I watch them both what does it matter in which order?

Actually that's Kimberly Kane (AKA KK). Sasha Grey was the Guest Star for the first set of episodes, Justine has taken her seat for this session/episode set.

Remember look at the faces, the faces are different. The faces are up. ;)

I just like clean houses with nice lights...
But the show isn't about interior design or how to keep a clean house\apartment, it's about a group of people sitting around playing D&D. Concentrate on the game instead of how much of a mess you think the house is and maybe you'll find things more enjoyable.
