"What size is she?" - That was my favorite bit of this episode. Especially KK's "I'm a size 6, but an 8 when I'm raging."

Ah, the joys of looting your newly defeated foes. Good stuff.

And excellent idea to forge the letter, Connie! But, uh, not so excellent execution of said idea...

So that kind of seemed like the end of the campaign?

Fantastic as always, the mad scramble for loot was great although I was surprised KK didn't spend a bit more time looking for her original stuff before abandoning it and going to get more. I have to say, when Mandy is on a mission for justice she doesn't hold back, between getting temporary clothes and getting the politicians to see the evidence she was a one woman army.

Frankie vanishing behind a giant map and the munchkin planning conversation at the end was hilarious.

Oh and:

From Episode 24 thread- I'm thinking there's an ulterior motive underneath the carnage that's coming, I'd say a few hundred feet underneath actually. I'm wondering if all of this is so she can read the wyvern that's under the city.
Yay me! I got something right for a change, between that, me making a Cottage pie for my wife and I to eat later and cleaning the skirting-boards I'm doing well today. (I'm easily pleased)

Nah, they still have the goblin army and the skeleton army marching in the direction of Vornheim. Though the goblins might be delayed by the forged message. The PCs will probably be charged or involved with the defense of the city. Which will be some kind of mass battle. Zak is experimenting with different rules for such battles (Hit his blog is you want to know the details of them.).

So how exactly do you read a wyvern? Do you nee a massive one of those readers or do you just cut the wyvern down into little strips?

Maybe its just because she joined the game really late but is it just me or is Gia almost non-existant?

I noticed that she is rather quiet. Out of the guest stars, I like Justine the best so far. She was really into it.

Yeah, I have to say that that is one thing that has never happened in any of my games. Of course, I game with mostly guys and the girls aren't really "girly" girls.

I wouldn't say that Gia has been quiet as such, there's just been a lot happening in other areas that has needed attention, the party has been split on and off for most of her appearance. When she has been involved she's been comedy gold.

Zak mentioned it in his most excellent blog http://dndwithpornstars.blogspot.com/2010/05/snakes-are-books.html it's also worth subscribing to the I hit it with my axe facebook page http://www.facebook.com/pages/I-Hit-It-With-My-Axe/394132172089

Apparently, unusually large specimens can be read with the use of specialized lenses. I'm wondering if the one question that the Wyvern asks its visitors is preserved for posterity on his skin.

I don't know if she's played before, but most people new to RPGs--maybe expecially D&D because of the daunting amount of knowledge for the game--are relatively quiet. And in this group, there is no shortage of active players so it's easy to coast.
And don't forget, Justine was given a more plot-centric starring role for her character.

It's interesting how the highs and lows in tempo occur in a game. When I've DM'd, I've always felt a little pressure in the back of my mind to keep things going at full speed all the time, even though I realize that without some downtime, full speed doesn't mean anything.

Okaay o_O... so this is D&D.
I think I'll stick with Neverwinter Nights thank-you-very-much!

I think Gia is a first time player. So she is probably not really used to it and/or is holding back a little bit out of fear of doing it "wrong". So she is kind of observing what/how the more experienced players are doing it. Kind of normal for a first time player.
Which is kind of funny, because I figured that persons with her kind of job would be a lot more outgoing. But I guess porn actors/actresses are just human, too. ;)

Also: I think they play like 6-8 hour sessions, out of which we get to see like 10 minutes, so... yeah maybe they had to cut out some stuff where she was more active? Don't know. :)

While Neverwinter Nights is based on D&D. 3.5 rules if I am not mistaken. Playing Neverwinter Nights and D&D are two pair of different shoes.
Also how D&D is played can vary heavily from group to group.
Would be interesting to hear, what exactly you didn't like. :)

And 6-8 hour sessions take a lot of you. This is easily towards the end just because everyone is so slow.

Great episode. I enjoy the fighting...but even more, I enjoy these parts of sessions. When the players drive plot forward in really open ended ways.

So the trooper6 MVP was tough to determine for this episode. Everybody did very valuable plot related things. But I think I'll hand over the award to KK for 1) for her size 6, 8 when raging. 2) For her snake backpack. 3) The War Hyena!

Another great episode.

I've not played a lot of D&D myself; but even still, I can't imagine there are many DMs more talented than Zak.

My impression of Zak's thoughts while forming this group:
"Let's see, I want to start a D&D group and I'll be DM.
But being DM isn't challenging enough for me, so I'll involve the demographic least inclined to play D&D, women. Still too easy... some women do play D&D, so I'll further restrict it to pretty, charismatic women with busy lives. Yeah.. that's the ticket... but wait need more challenge, I'll open it up to the public for scrutiny... but most people in the public wont know if I'm doing it right or wrong. Got it! I'll publish it on a video game site so that I get the highest possible concentration of gaming nerds PERFECT!!!"

Ok, I've concluded that Zak is a masochist. He still does a fantastic job despite all these challenges.
