Well that was impressive. Game Dogs turned me away in three episodes. This show did it in two. It may be the most boring thing I've ever seen.
Ha! I beat you. I was turned off in the first 2 minutes of the first episode.
Then, my moral beliefs turned me off as soon as I read the title of the second episode (If you're going to be that crass even in the title, no thanks). This episode is total crap, morally, comedic-ly... plus, I mean, it exists. That's got to be a downside.

I approached the second episode with an open mind, deciding I may have been too harsh on the last one, and hoping to see improvement.

The last one, I was able to sit through two minutes before I quit.
This one? Nineteen seconds.

enjoyable. listening to/watching people play rpgs always is.

but...

the clips need to be longer. at least 10+ minutes, maybe even longer (if that if possible here). you can only put so much action into such a short clip and i feel 5 minutes is simply not enough time to "get into the spirit of the game".

ps: yahtzee should review this.

I say kill the Inn keeper, that bastard has had it too good for too long.
EXACTLY. And he has a sass-mouth.

Then Sasha can run the place and Connie and Frankie can fleece sleeping NPCs every night.
Then they can buy magic weaponry with the loot money.

Everything works out.

In all honesty I could hardly watch the first episode when I saw it at first, gave it a while and re-watched it. Wasn't as bad as I thought and episode two is an improvement.

Its funny but if I really examine what im watching I know it should be rubbish however its kinda growing on me and I have no idea why.

Unlike the majority of commenters, I know what its like to produce a show and edit video & its bloody HARD TO DO.
Holy crap I can't stand this kind of argument. You're just like those whiny brats on shows like American Idol who can't sing, but when called out on their terribleness they all cry "Well I bet you can't do any better!!" and "You have no idea how hard this is!" It doesn't matter if I can't do better; I'm not the one putting myself up for critique. It doesn't matter how hard it is; plenty of shows out there are BRILLIANT with minimal effort, because of the writing and direction, maybe not necessarily the quality.

Bottom line? I personally don't give a crap about "lighting" and "editing" and all the technical aspects of this show. It's The Escapist for crying out loud, not some kind of film festival. I came here to watch something entertaining. I didn't find it entertaining.

I might enjoy watching this if the DM was better. I mean, he's so bad at describing and all his voices sound the same. And I think it'd be more interesting with more experienced players - but not the kind that bitches about the rules all the time.

I'm liking it. There's certainly room for improvement, but I could see it getting a lot more interesting once the game takes off a bit. Keep at it!
I do think that most of the other comments are a bit too severe, but this is the Internet. *sigh*
Thanks a bunch! When I play other people's D&D Shows/Podcasts I like it when its long and I listen to it/watch it in the background when i'm working. My personal opinion is that this show should be at least 10 minutes long if not 20 minutes with "previously on ..." commentary at the begining of the show so you can really get into what is going on and connect with the characters better. But I'm not the editor or producer. Its really up to them.
I agree with you!
Hrmmm maybe you should push for it to be every two weeks instead of every week then. I mean it couldn't hurt to suggest an idea to them, right?

At least there seems to be a lot less "Ugh they're porn stars" type comments. As someone who occasional does some minor erotica I found those comments really annoying, I couldn't imagine how someone who makes a career in that field must get after seeing comments like that.

GAMEDOGS wasn't cheap laughs? Wasn't a gimmick?

If it wastes your time, there are plenty of *other* hings you can watch on THE ESCAPIST that will likely not bother you the same way. If you honestly think they're programing this to insult you, I think you're taking it all a little too seriously. Give it a little time - Zak himself has said that it doesn't really kick into gear until around episode 5 anyway.

If you think people are only watching this because they want to see tits, well, I really think you're wrong.
You're missing the point. There are other things to watch, but watching other videos doesn't change the fact that this show is rather insultingly simple: tits and video games. Also, although Gamedogs has a gimmick (they're dogs...playing games), it's not personally insulting the viewer; it's just something that the creator did to try and stand out of the crowd. This show...the reason why it's insulting is because the basic premise of it is a bunch of porn star girls playing DND...that aren't very interesting. Therefore, we are lead to believe that Escapist assumes we'll love it because it has girls with huge tits in it.

Also, maybe you should go back and read the comments...several Escapees have actually outright said "I'm only watching this because of their tits."

Ehhhhhhhhhhhh
I liked ep.1 but I think my friend Ivan said it best "No one wants to hear about your role playing character" by that I mean it's fun to play the game, but it's not much fun to just watch people squabble about it, unless there is genuine humor. Like Unforgotten relemes was funny because you got to see them in character and having fun with it. in this you see people...kinda...want...to...kill...things...we...get...it. It's not like an upbeat well pased story. It's kinda like it was all made up on the fly. Which is also fine, and I'm sure it is. But it's not like they assume the role of a character or Zak Sabbath seems to kinda not have a story in mind

An improvement from the first episode but you still haven't won me over yet. To me it feels like I'm watching people playing D&D and having fun while I just get to watch, I don't get to take part in any of the fun, which not only makes it boring but makes me want to go play D&D with my friends. This could be improved if their was more humour, and perhaps a little more enthusiasm from the players, the dungeon master did good with his voices and that one chick seemed really into it but everyone else just looks like they're there to hang out not to role play (might not be the case but that's how it appeared to me). Maybe some action would help too... I'm not suggesting full out larping but something to keep the viewers attention.

Nice Try.

why the hell is this on the escapist!!!!
i can hardly believe it, the days of Unforgotten Realms are very, very over
this is the first real step towards me wondering how low the escapist will go.
game dogs was "meh" but this is "your joking, right?"

Okay, it has a funny concept. (Albeit, not one for me) But deep, deep down, it has its roots in the true, youth dream. "Have ridiculous conversations with your friends, film it, and try to sell it." I mean, who hasn't thought that they could do that at some point or another. It encounters the same problem as every other story that you try to tell about your friends. "I guess you had to be there." The comedy might not be bad. It might be entertaining. But maybe you just had to be there.

This is actually pretty enjoyable. I mean, it's porn stars and D&D. How the hell can't this be awesome?

I love watching noobs play pen and paper table top stuff. No one is ever actually patient enough to role play, they just want to progress as fast as possible.

Still, I can see why people aren't too fond of this.
