I lost Fawkes in Fallout 3!Help me!

Alright, I was running around in Fallout 3 killing all the Super Mutant Behemoths.When i was in the Capitol Building I jumped down some ledges and got pretty far away from Fawkes.When I couldn't find him I just exited the area because that usually spawned him right beside me.Didn't work.So I was running around waiting for him to spawn.I looked int the History Museum were he goes when you Fire him.He wasn't there.I tried to rehire Charon but the Game told me I already had a follower.I searched the whole capitol again but he wasn't there either.It wouldn't be that big of a deal if he wouldn't be carrying all my stuff, especially my Nuka Cola Quantum.And that really sucks.
Oh, I'm playing on the 360.
So,if anybody knows about that problem and a possible solution I would be really happy if you could help me out.

EDIT:Ok,He's not in his cell and he's not in Underworld.
Well,fuck.
EDITEDIT:WOHOOO!!He came back to underworld.after about a month of in-game time.what the fuck?

Can't you just reload your last save. I mean, it's not like you saved AFTER you lost Fawkes right?

Well, there's not much you can do but reload a last save.

Glad I have the PC version. I can just teleport to lost NPCs.

If you have "The Pitt" DLC, just go in and out of the Pitt. He will respawn at the Museum of History.

Otherwise, sorry bro.

Before you get too reload happy, try waiting where Fawkes is supposed to show up for about 24 hours. Then leave the zone and re-enter. He might just show up.

I once lost him and found him waiting at Vault 92, back in his cell. Other times, I've found him waiting just outside Underworld. Once I had him just walk up to me in the middle of the desert after being missing for most of the game, cool as a cucumber, to help me take on some Albino Radscorpions... and get his arse handed to him.

This happened to me with Dogmeat. I went to clear out a LOT of raiders in some buildings, telling him to stay behind. When I got back he had disappeared completely. At first I assumed he had got himself killed somehow, but I couldn't even find a body.

I didn't really mind though.....he kept running at enemies while I was sneaking, meaning I had to run in and save him...

I'm not sure. That's one of the two DLCs that I don't have, but if it does work, I'd definitely suggest that you get Point Lookout instead of The Pitt. It was a fairly terrible expansion.
