This has never happened before, but I was playing LA Noire and in the exact moment that it showed cole phelps cheating and being taken off of the case that I was extremely interested in right at the climax, all interest to complete the story died on impact.

I did try to play on anyway, but I'm seriously not interested in any of the arson crimes whatsoever.

I'm slightly tempted to just watch a walkthrough for the parts I actually care about up to the ending and never play it again.

What should I do?

To be fair, adultery was illegal in California in 1947.

It's a dumb move in that there doesn't seem to be much justification given for him cheating at all. But as for getting a demotion, that made sense - especially given that he's obviously being set up. Play on through arson, you'll realise what Phelps was getting close to uncovering.

Just be patient, it'll make sense. Don't expect the game to be all roses and fairyfloss, though, bad things are going to happen.

Yeah I didn't like that bit of the story either, "Oh NOES Cole Phelps, our star detective and great family man has been cheating on his wife! The humanity!!!!"

Oh you mean the wife and family I never saw, therefore making how they felt completely irrelevant? Yeah that's dramatic...
