I think Gamestop is screwing me over or something.

I went to gamestop a while back to pick up assassins creed 2 they had a whole bunch of thirty something dollar pre owned, all being the gamestop edition where you could unlock that medici building.

I bought it brought it home and the game froze when trying to race Ezios brother to the top of the church. Shut it off turned it back on, during the loading screen the sound cut out desmond didn't freeze but it all was silent and it didn't load.

Sent it back got a new one, same exact friggan problem, brought it back and they gave me a brand new one, unrapped the plastic and BOOM same exact thing.

Is gamestops games faulty or something? All my other games work perfectly fine.

Ummm....I doubt that Gamestop did this on purpose.

It's likely your Xbox can't handle the sheer awesome of the game.

Considering that it's happened with three separate discs then I don't think it's the supplier at all. A store selling one faulty game is rare as it is but three? That's just unheard of. I'd say that there's probably something wrong with your XBox. Have you spoken to XBox support at all?

Is it just with AC2? Check your other games to see if it happens again. If it happens again, but in another game then perhaps your gaming console has kicked the proverbial bucket.

And when in doubt, send it back and get another :D

Ever stop to think its you? You did try 3 games, one of them brand new. I don't see how it could be Gamestop unless the re-wrapped and old game and claimed it as new.

I suspect it's your console, try connecting to PSN/Xbox live and see if theirs a patch available (sadly, gone are the days when console games worked flawlessly out of the box).

Nah I got one of the new smaller Ps3's and every single other game I have works perfectly fine, I just find it odd that the same game had the same problem at the same point in the game. All coming from the same place, I'm not trying to uncover some mass conspiracy I just wanna play AC2.

I had a weird glitch the first time I played the game too...exact same spot, where you race to the top of the church. The mission had supposedly started, but I got to the top and there was no finish, I went up and down a few times.

Restarted the Xbox and it was fine. Sounds like you have a hardware problem.

It's a conspiracy man! Gamestop wants to fuck with you! They love seeing you go insane because you can't play the game!

I bet it's them who also made that shitty ending too. They wanted us to say "WTF" when we finished it!

It's just your x-box. I bought mine used and it works fine.

It's a Ubisoft game. They're not meant to work. You paid $100 for the artwork.

Seriously true jokes aside, now for actual seriousness. The last AC was glitchy as well. Nevertheless, this is probably not the issue because it's not something others have ran into. I would suggest that you demand a refund and go buy it from some non-criminal organisations (sorry Gamestop, but really, this happened twice over?) or else exchange it for a brand new copy another five or six times in a vain hope that it will change things.

If, however, you have installed something extra on your PS3 like another OS, I suspect there may be a conflict. And that's to speak nothing of illegal modifications you may have made to the console.

$30+ for a preowned when it's $40 new. Yep, I'd say you were screwed.

I've seen worse. Saint's Row 2 used was $26, new was $20.

Gamespot didn't manufacture the game. They also clean it and, well if it's faulty, they give you another game of the same kind... I doubt they're out to get you.

Hmmm, well it might just be a manufacturing error and you just got unlucky, or GameStops a bloody cheat. Either one.

Have you installed the game to your hard drive? I had the same problem with Fable 2 after about 30 hours of play.
