I get amused from the shit that lulzsec does, but seriously, your "go to evil hacker organization" is Anonymous?! REALLY?!

I'm aware that one of these days lulzsec will step on my foot, that will of course be bad, but at least if Anonymous ever does the same, I'll know that in that situation I was doing something very wrong and deserved it.

You wouldn't be saying that if you we're one of the people who had their emails hacked, facebook accounts destroyed or paypal info leaked. The list goes on, these people need to be stopped and thrown into jail. At least Anonymous has an agenda of some kind, these are random attacks for no reason at all. Hell, even this website fell victim.

*SLAP!* No. NO! Bad monkey! BAD MONKEY! VERY BAD MONKEY!!!

Stealing passwords, account information and making everyone's credit cards at risk is not funny or constructive. If they wanted to get the companies attention to their security fuck up's why do they insist on hurting us? They pull that moral bullshit out of their asses to make people symapthize with them and donate money to them. At least Anonymous has a fucking agenda outside of being assholes, like attacking scientology, tracking down animal abusers etc, Lulzsec just hacks anything on a whim, leaves everyone standing out naked in the thunderstorm for lack of a decent comparison, and excuses it with their finding "security flaws" BS. Their actions will harm the internet, we won't have net neutrality, people will want censorship and monitoring on the internet because of this. They are destructive, counter-productive, and not fucking funny. The 10K in cash decline was a PR stunt, they'd get more donations from morons like you.

You wouldn't find it funny or constructive if you had a horse in the race asshole. You have to either be extremely stupid, intoxicated off your fucking balls or a troll. Or any combination of the three.

Really!? What's so funny about them. I have found literally NOTHING about them. They just seem like high school brats and rejects who are taking out their rage on random websites.

I'm fairly sure Anon are better than Lulzsec. They found the girl who drowned puppies in a river remember? Lulzsec are just being dicks.

They posted people email addresses and passwords online giving people access to things like paypal and other extremely sensitive and important assets. This could cripple a persons life with things not limited to financial ruin and identity theft! What is funny about that?!

Can't tell if trolling...

I'll just hope it's not.

No, it is not funny. Nothing they do is funny. They never were. It's not funny to hack Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft. It's not funny to release 62,000 users info, email and password, so people can fuck with them. It's not funny to ruin people's lives as they did in multiple cases.

No, it is not fucking funny, and they should stop doing it. Trolling the entire internet has been successful, but now they go to the FBI and US Government to fuck with them? That is in itself, even worse than all of the above, but it will ultimately result in their own downfall, which I will enjoy watching. Watch, one by one, their group fall apart after each are given a bullet to the head for the whole world to laugh at, FOR THE LULZ.

Maybe it's real, or maybe not, but it's interesting to see other groups fighting back.

They released those 62,000 records quite a while ago.

I'm not really surprised that they are really popular downloads.

EDIT: NINJA'd... well, lulzsec got pwned by Web Ninjas

Epic Lulz ensued.

They suck ass because even though they are "sticking it to the man" people who aren't the man will probably get in trouble/fired for their antics.
It's the CIO's job, and the CIO's job alone, to propose and implement better security measures. They are the ones that need to recognize vulnerabilities, and they are the ones to ask for more money from the CFO and CEO to fix those vulnerabilities. Then they allot that money to the proper people accordingly to purchase the better hardware or write better code.

tl;dr, the CIO is the only one who'll be getting canned.
Even then the CIO probably has a family to support, and I wouldn't doubt that he/she had a limited budget before people's site started going down and information was stolen. It stops being funny once it has real world consequences.
If a person has a job to do and they do it badly, they deserve to get fired. Constant security breaches means they are doing a bad job.
If they constantly do then yes. But if you are Sony/facebook/that douchebag security guy they hacked/CIA and all of a sudden you get hit pretty much all at once with a crap ton of hacking there is barely anything you can do. Before this I highly doubt there was very much money or resources going to these places to make sure their networks were lulz proof. There was even an article on the Escapist where one of internet security provider said that it is almost impossible to stop these guys if they really set their minds to it.

Personally, I think them like the Joker of the Internet, they want to take down Sony for pity sake, they leaked personal information of thousands of people.

It's hard to say that we are lathing at them, more like they are lathing at us. Anonymous might be evil in a sort of way, yet it's easy to say that they are way more mature then that, they have IDEALS for pity sake! I think LulzSec seems like a pack of kids compared to them.

I think LulzSec is trying to act like A-holes, while Anonymous does not care about it's reputation, they do what they think is right. Anonymous is not a group of super hackers that want to control the world, they are an organized group of people like me and you, tied together by a common goal.

On the related topic, where the hell is Anonymous now?! We don't need some small African nation hacked, we want to do something about those network hackings, as Gabe Newell said: "PSN hackings are not only the problem of Sony, they are the problem of the industry"

No, anon was funny, they laughed with us, these people laugh at us, they said it themselves, anon is there for all of us, anon is legion, we are all anon and at the same time, not; anon never took down services just for shits and giggles, they had a purpose, and when they did target something, it was someone truely deserving of it, people who made the internet a less enjoyable place, these people make the internet a less enjoyable place.

Yes, I know. Anon does good stuff once in a while, like tracking down that sick fuck from that one video a while back where they were torturing cats or something. What kind of actually useful things has lulzsec done? Shut down this site for a day because they thought it was funny? Yeah, that's what I thought. I think the phrase you're looking for is "At least Anon isn't Lulzsec."

Hacking a service for the specific purpose of releasing personal information over the internet for identity thieves to possibly have access to it isn't that funny. That'd be like someone at The Louvre taking the Mona Lisa and laying it on the ground in the lobby for art thieves to potentially take it and run off with it but hoping that they don't. It's irresponsible is what it is, regardless of whether or not something bad happens.

In case you didn't get it I'm not a fan of Lulzsec and I personally think that they are just dumbasses doing dumbass things.

that they are causing no real harm to any of us,
They took down The Escapist for almost a whole day for shits and giggles. It was the tuesday just gone too and I couldn't access a message I had that TAUNTED ME SO MUCH!

OT: I don't find them that funny. The NHS thing, and some other good things, fine, but when they take down websites and take away services from players, like how they keep taking down EVE Online, a game I don't even play, I physically can't find it funny.

Calumon: I didn't know bullying was fun now... : (

I suppose you're also fine with them releaseing XBL account details and credit card info.
Of course not, why would I be? That's causing unneeded grief to people. That'd be liking punching you in the stomach. You'd be a dick to do it to random people and laugh about it, and that's what Lulzsec is doing.

I am not mad Lulzsec, I am disappoint.

Calumon: I thought you were Jack? :S
