Have you ever had a moment while playing a video game when you found yourself yelling "I WAS JOKING!" at the screen? Moments where you say something bizarre only for the game to end up having said bizarre element? I had one not too long ago while playing Dark Souls. I was fighting the Iron Golem, I think it was my 4th or 5th try. I was at half health and all out of potions while the giant still had a fair chunk of health left. He was doing that off balance thing on the edge of the tower and remembering how I had died in previous fights by falling off, I remarked "it sure would be nice if HE fell off." Then I hit him...and he did. That was a very pleasant surprise.

What about you?

Well, when I first played through Mass Effect, when you have Anderson help you free the Normandy, when he stormed into Udina's office, I yelled at the TV "Yeah, punch him in the face!" and he did, to which I responded "Oh my god, he actually punched him in the face!"

Crusader Kings 2 - I was joking with a friend about how you can get a king with terrible traits that utterly ruins your realm when your vassals decide they hate his guts. Next day, along comes my Craven Homosexual Retarded Heretic prince, taking the throne of Russia. The ensuing wave of rebellion was... well, it wasn't boring, I'll tell you that...

^^ This. Also the other cutscene where he headbuts a Turian C-Sec officer into unconsiousness.

And then he becomes the Human Counciler 6 hours later. That was fun.

Mine aren't so much "I was only joking!" but more like "Well, I fucking called that one." Normally happens when the game introduces some new form of BS during a boss fight or something. "Money says that it's going to start breaking away the platforms that I have to stand on." or something like that leading inevitably to me saying, as I mentioned, "Well, I fucking called that one."

You mean you weren't whooping and cheering that he'd just punched Ambassador Udina in the face?

Guess I was the only one.

Now for immediate things i was playing Red dead redemptuion undead nightmare..i was riding along the country side and mused to myself: wouldnt it be funny if i encountered the horses of the apocalypse without any trouble aboud 5 minutes later i had broken war i think...went to the next area...broke the next one...then the next one... and then im just crusiing and i find the last one... needless to say i was shocked stupid i found them so easily when its supposed to be rarer than that.

Let's see, I was playing Xenogears. And there's this cutscene where Cherenkov is being verbally beaten by his wife who thinks he's a disgusting monster and what not. Anyway, I said outloud: "10 bucks he kills her." And right then, the cutscene has a fade out of him walking up to her and a fade in of her body lying on the ground. Woot.

I was playing Terraria the other day and was fighting The Wall of Flesh and was doing really well. As his health dropped lower and lower, I said to myself that "it would suck if I would die just before I could strike the killing blow". About a minute of running and firing like a moron later I finally get it down to two digits of health (He starts with 8000). One more shot is all that is needed to finish this abomination. Guess what happens...

well... it might sound childish but I was playing Runescape, making baked potatoes, and I thought to myself "getting cheese takes forever... they should just make a milk churner".

Sure enough in the next week's update, completely unannounced in the monthly update news, they released churners. I was quite chuffed.

I usually know what to expect. It rarely happens.
Likewise. There was a time however when I was playing Silent Hill: Homecoming when an enemy was chasing me down before I leaped over a desk into another room and said, "Can't get me now, stupid ass" than the enemy promptly stepped over the desk and beat the crap out of me.

Yup, that's what happens.

Also, I kinda felt bad about the Udina thing. I hate his guts, but I don't think he's all that bad of a guy.

Still hate him though.

Im sorry, are we talking about the same Udina?

tried to help Cerberus to take over the citadel and kill the council (which in my game was saved in ME1).

As I see it, a number of wrongs by Bioware were undone in my eyes when they allowed me to do that...

I had a lot of moments like that in the Persona series.

I play a lot of games like I'm in my own episode of MST3K, and often make fun of the game because...I have nothing else to do.

There's one scene from Persona 3 where one of the characters is the son of a doctor, and likes to try and help diagnose people. He's talking to one of your female party members and as I joke I said aloud "Take off your shirt and say 'ahhhh'." and then about two lines of dialogue later...he said that almost verbatim.

I've had quite a few of those moments in both Persona 3 and 4

Yeah, but in my opinion he was doing so for all the right reasons. He was DEAD wrong, and as I said I hate the guy, but I can sympathize with him.

Mine are more out of anger at particularly hard bossfights or sections. Usually it's along the lines of, "Oh, I bet he'll be able to one-shot me for some reason!" or "And I bet I'll have to do this section another 20 bloody times!"

Yeah... I geuss I can see your point... but its quite argueable that deciding to side with Cerberus, whether or not it was for a good cuase, was just a bad decision period. Course, as I already had an idea of what they were trying to do, and I knew how it would have turned out, I am a little biased.
