Uhhh...Congratulations?

I don't mean to be insulting, just not much to say to a post like that.

Oh, nice RF:G badge that I can't get because I live in New York.

This warranted a thread? Going Gonzo is nothing special to be honest, mine was in an argument with Lord Krunk, whom I'm now good friends with. I'm happy that you've finally managed to reach that mark but you could at least have had something to discuss here, unless you wish to turn this thread into 'what was your gonzoation post?' or something similar.

I live in Canada.... I think I broke the rules. I think I might be in trouble. I hope I'm not.... All I wanted was another RFG badge....

Shall I throw roses at your feet, sing your praises, or all of the above?

Good job man, but you don't need to devote a whole thread to garnering attention.
BTW "Gonzo" isn't a particularly flattering term in the media, just so you know...

No you won't didn't shan't, just make sure you keep in mind that when you post a new topic, it should be something everyone would be interested in.

I don't remember my 1000th post, I never usually took into account what cool post I had until it was already a couple posts too late. But I don't mind.

Well after a long time posting I have finally Gone Gonzo.
Your join date was not even 4 months ago, you call that a long time?

Forums with special statuses after X-amount of post counts are pointless. People will just spam posts to try and get the next level. I'm not saying everyone does this, but it happens often. When I go to sites without this "feature" the posts tend to be more productive, contribute more to the site or topic, and more meaningful then: "Lol, yeah" "I agree with this" or other, short sentenced answers.
Again, I'm not saying everyone does this, but there is a lot of it around...
Congrats anyways.

Going Gonzo means nothing anymore. The only time when someone getting 1000 was impressive was when PurpleRain went Gonzo. Since then getting 1000 posts is not an important milestone and does not warrant it's own thread. People Go Gonzo in a couple of weeks now, I don't know how anybody could still be impressed by it.

EDIT: No need to call for a mod to lock this thread. It isn't that bad.

I never really cared about ranks until my post number said 999.

Mine was today too. I put up news that Marvel vs Capcom 2 would be coming to XBLA and PSN this summer before even the editors got it.

Do not take offense, I was not making fun of you. I cannot judge you because I am not really an "active" member of the community, and have not seen your posts (well, maybe here and there) but as fire demon said, 1000 posts isn't so exciting these days with spammers and such.
I should also mention that this is a really large community, so there are more topics created more often, and it's not always spamming that people do, but reply to SOOOOO many topics.

where is the discussion in this? or has this been some sort of active goal for you when you first joined or a bet you had with someone who must now be humiliated. i don't get it, what is the point?

Through the power of dance.

Seriously though, the answer is floating around on the boards somewhere. Search a bit and you will find it, I don't want to take all the fun out of the chase.
