Say they announced the iConsole tomorrow and had 2 or 3 good games to launch it with like Microsoft did when they released the Xbox. Would you spend the money to buy it?

For extra features, I think it would be cool if it could sync with iTunes and had features like the Apple TV where you could download shows and iOS apps and games and stuff.

Also what do you think they would call it? iConsole sounds kinda boring.

Edit: I did not know about the Pippin. My bad.

No, because Apple would introduce a new model every three months, rendering the last model Obsolete.

If I'm not mistaken, they've already tried that.

That, and we'd see a new version every few months.

Well, it really depends on whether the console was any good or not. I'd say no, I probably wouldn't buy it since I have no love for Apple products at the moment. If it was actually a good gaming console however, of course I would buy it, why not?

Really, the fact that the console is made by Apple is almost irrelevant.

They've already tried it once before with the Pip-Pin.

It was over-priced, under-powered, and the software that ran it was horrible. If they did put out a system today, I see it as either being a weak system or significantly overpriced, much like their personal computers.

Didn't they already make a console called the Pippin? And every month the model that was bought would become obsolete. No, I wouldn't buy it. They'd probably charge me for every time I wanted to play it as well.

No, because it would run a ridiculous amount of money and would be filled with tonnes of crappy, 99 cent games.

I'd buy it if it was a good product. The company that made it wouldn't really concern me. I've never understood this whole corporate loyalty thing, why some people hate all of apples stuff and other love it, it's just silly.

I'm not very fond of Apple and I'm not a console gamer, but as with everything I would evaluate the machine on its merits rather than loyalty of hate for a company.

Given my image of Apple I suspect that their machine would be expensive and have inferior hardware, but look very pretty next to your TV and and wouldn't try to confuse you with more than one button.

I agree. I was thinking more along the lines of them releasing one because they are an electronics company, not because they are apple. Lol

What so I can go several grand out of pocket for something that will shatter every time a fly lands on it (seriously after having my HTC for just over one year with nothing going wrong I've known friends who have got through 6 iPhone's in a similar space of time), or so only a year maximum after I've brought it they'll release a new model with things the original could have easily had on it but they just decided not to bother, but not forking out another metric fuckton of money for the new version on day 1 makes you a social leper. Yeah, I'll pass.

The games on it would probably be shit anyway. It would just be like Kinect but with added pretentiousness.

If their previous products are any indication, a console by Apple would be overpriced, lack real power, and sell on the fact that it would be the popular thing to buy. Theres no way in hell I'd buy one.

If it was ranted and raved about, I'd maybe consider it and if it had some good releases. My history with their computers has been strained and I'm beginning to loathe their company. Plus the fact that they're always bringing out new models might be something to consider...
