If you could erase a game/series of games from ever being made...

..Which would you choose, and why?

Personally, I'd pick Halo, (not because I dislike the games, they're all very good IMO) but to see how it would affect modern shooters, would regenerative 'shields' or the red screen effect still have been popular? Who knows.

For experimental reasons? Final Fantasy.

For hatred reasons? Either Call of Duty series after CoD2, or World of Warcraft (not Warcraft itself though).

Online multi-player.

So more effort would be put in the single-player.

It would cause a huge TIME PARADOX no matter what you got rid of.

And those are bad.
I agree, as bad as crossing the streams!

But look on the bright side, it might be limited to our area of the galaxy!

I do not want to erase any game series from history.

BLASPHEMY!

Seriously though, I'm intrigued to find out your reasons for this outrageous interesting statement.

I would pick MMORPGs like WOW simply because tens of millions of people online muhmorpuguhs are creating a nerd/gaming stigma of being anti-social lifeless unproductive people who play on the computer 10 hours a day. At least thats the stigma its been giving the media... and through them... non-gamers. This inaccurate stereotype is offensive and it seems to me the only solution is to get rid of MMORPGs.

I too, would erase Halo because I hate all of the hooting dickhole (thank you Yahtzee) twelve year olds it spawned. I look forward to having to deal with these "people" when their parents kick them out and they have to come to my real world.

That is a stereotype.
I barely even spend 2 hours on it.
I don't know where all the hate came from, but it needs to stop because it divides the gaming community.

Well its kidna just me, but I never really truly enjoyed the game, the first 2 were terrible in my opinion, they were just bland because all the shit you got...it never really truly helped.

THE KNIFE...ohhhh the knife, k that was cool! But honestly shouldn't they have put that into the first 2 because if you run out of ammo you are screwed in all possible manners and forms.

I just personally disliked the game is what it more or less comes down too.

Because of hatred:
- WoW / Runescape (All games in that category)
- Halo

Just to see what happens (basically my favorite series):
- Metal Gear
- Final Fantasy
- Silent Hill
- Guitar Hero
- All Mario Games

Those last five would screw up the world.

Madden. Just Madden. I can't imagine how much better gaming would be without it. EA wouldn't have the power they do, and a lot more people would have money to spend on other things, possibly games that never got the respect they deserved.
