So I met this girl in japan, she is norwegian like me and lives a few hours away.

out of my 3 weeks in Japan, the last week was spent mostly with her. we talked about all kind of random stuff and had a great time. the more i talked with her the more I realized that I was falling in love with her.

the problem is that I'm a very awkward teen. I'm 17 and I've never had a girlfriend or a female friend. I think maybe she might be trying to hint that she might be interested, the problem is that I'm to stupid to see things like that.

There are a couple of things that I've noticed that may or may not be signs to indicate that she might be interested.
1. the last night in japan we, me a friend of mine and her, decided to stay up all night so that we could sleep more easily on the flight home. She most of the night with her head on my lap. If you read this and think that this is just what female friends do then, shit...
2. She didn't seem like she was bothered when I had my arm around her. Although that may because that's how I helped her not accepting every flyer that was sent her way, but... I'm hopeful
3. just how she writes to me on skype.. I would almost call it flirtatious, if I knew what the fuck I was talking about. well, there's one thing she said that was kind of a joke I think, but the way it was put could be taken as a compliment. she said, after we had discussed how creepy it would have been if someone said to you that you are really cute when you sleep "If i told you you are really cute right now, how creepy would that be". I realize I might be over thinking this, which is why I ask for advice.

Do you think she is interested, and should I try to hit on her?

well, now I know what the captcha's opinion
and then I wrote that captcha wrong and now it's telling me to exercise more...

First tip: Love doesn't come around after 3 weeks.
Second, before you do anything, masturbate. I'm being serious here. Have a wank, distract yourself for an hour or so, then think about it again. It could just be hormones or whatever wanting a shag and you end up fooling yourself into thinking you're in love.
Lastly? Well, go for it. From how you describe it you seem to get on and know her fairly well, and it's early on so none of that so called 'friend zone' bullshit will get in the way.
Good luck!

It sounds like she's into you. Certainly more than many girls. From what you've said it sounds like she's coming onto you harder than any girlfriend I've ever had come onto me. Then again, it's still always hard to tell if they're leading you on. But from what you say she sounds sincere. If you still have doubts, when you two are talking and it seems serious just ask her if she's flirting with you. If she says yes, well you know where that's going. A no answer could still mean a variety of things based on intonation and body language but that should help be a general guide for how quickly to proceed (if that's an option).

But your prospects seem promising. Best of luck!

All i can think of is clichéd quotes to throw at you, but....

i think you'll regret it in the long term if you don't try. Especially if you like her, take a chance on it!

No, she is definitely not into you. See, I just happen to have to ability to be able to tell if one person is into another person, without actually meeting either person, based purely on a few paragraphs so I know without a shadow of a doubt.

Seriously, can we just change the name of this website to "IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN SOMEONE, ASK THEM OUT" to save time?

I'd say yes, you don't really see people do this unless they're couples.

Agreed. Ask her out. Soonish actually. Laying her head in your lap is generally a sign of affection. Either she's awaiting some sort of response for you, or she has very few inhibitions about physical contact (I'm guessing the former).

However, you're not falling in love. It takes months to learn who a person is. People guard themselves, and only show what they believe to be their best sides. This seems even more likely in your case; you were both far away from home, and thus, behaving differently than you would on a normal day-to-day basis.
It's alright to be excited and happy about an interesting woman who may lead to a good relationship. However, you don't really know who she is yet, and you shouldn't fall in love with just what someone appears to be.

People aren't stupid they know that "ask them out" is the best advice, what they are usually looking for is some reassurance, something to help sooth their nerves, or even just that little push to do what they need to do, especially when they aren't comfortable talking to friends about it.

OT: She could just be a friendly girl, but I say go for it man

Worst case scenario, she says no and you're still friends.

Best case scenario, I dunno, happily ever after?

This advice is sage. If you've not already acted on it, do so now.

Sleeping with her head on your lap?
Unless there were some strange circumstances like you were sleeping in a rock quarry or something, I'm guessing she's attracted to you.

I've only had a girl lie with her head in my lap once in my life, and she was someone I really should have made a move on.

A good way to tell, I figure, is to see if she's touching you when it isn't strictly necessary.
Say you're sitting next to eachother on a bench or something. Are her feet or legs touching yours? Maybe her shoulder or one of her arms?

Of course, you could try to touch her when it isn't strictly necessary yourself and see how she reacts to it. Once again, if you're sitting next to eachother and you move so as to let your arm or leg touch hers, does she pull away or does she stay still?
If it's the latter, she most likely enjoys the fact that you're touching her.

I don't think OP thinks he's falling in love in the sense you're inferring.
OP is Norwegian, so he might just be using the expression in the way it's used in Norwegian. The Norwegian equivalent: to "forelske seg" is more often used to refer to crushes or infatuations.
In Norwegian, to love someone romantically and to be in love with them are treated as sort of separate, so I'm guessing OP is saying that he's slightly infatuated with her, not that he believes he loves her.
